Leasing of Trade Center May Help Transit Projects, Pataki Says

World Trade Center Deal Remains in Doubt

The sale of the World Trade Center lease was supposed to be a smooth, well-oiled process. Instead, it has turned into a twisting, fast-paced ordeal whose outcome is still uncertain.
The Port Authority had planned to announce last Wednesday that it was selling the lease for the World Trade Center for $3.25 billion to Vornado Realty Trust, a deal that would have been the largest involving a single piece of real estate. Instead, the negotiations have turned into a long-running ordeal.

This article (the latest in a series) over at Salon.com has 120 comments so far. A couple things to note--Patrick Leahy was one of (with Tom Daschle) the Senators targeted by the ANthrax. He is also the one calling for a truth and reconciliation commission. If the 9/11 OCT is flimsy, then the Amerithrax OCT is unstable to WTC7 extremes--and the link to 9/11 what with the anthrax letters being date 9/11 even tough they were mailed weeks after, is undeniable...

Love Lessons: Desperately Seeking Approval

When my boyfriend suddenly decided that the U.S. government had planned 9/11 to justify a war in the Mideast, I was alarmed, but not enough to ditch him outright. After all, I told myself, his penchant for questioning everything in his path was one of the things I loved about him. Surely he'd regain his senses soon.

This is a repost of a Guardian blog and mostly pertains to fruits and vegetables. In the US, at least on the West Coast, most of our imported produce (besides all the Mexican stuff) is from Chile, but it is most definitely worth reading the labels on products like olive oil, olives, feta cheese, couscous and other less-perishable products that make their way here from Israel -- not to mention that WTCD islanders in Britain/Europe may actually be able to shun the perishables.
