The Dentist, The 911 Hijackers, And The FBI

The latest from Sander Hicks is a narrative about a man in Louisiana who saw some weird names on a box at a weirdos home in Shreveport, LA. There are two short videos that have been presented as a documentary on this subject. My observations are based on those two videos along with Sander Hicks recent trip to Shreveport to talk with the FBI.

Suppose you wanted people to think something was true, but you had no good, believable evidence for it.  What if you pretended you had evidence, and then pretended to destroy that evidence?  Wouldn't people then fall right into your trap, assuming that you had destroyed it precisely because it contained evidence of something?  And then you could have your surrogates argue about what that evidence MIGHT have been?

CIA admits it destroyed tapes of interrogations

One way, as may be evidenced from this latest development of CIA destroying tapes of "al Qaeda" detainees allegedly torturous interrogations, could be to say that the whole misunderstanding was a result of overzealous interrogators and their prey who made up the whole account of al Qaeda responsibility to stop the torture.  Conveniently, no evidence need be reviewed since it has allegedly been destroyed.

So on my way to my usual lunchtime vigil outside the heavily trafficked Harvard Science Center I passed by the offices of the Chemistry teachers.  A flyer on one of their personal bulletin boards next to the door to their office caught my eye--"Architects and Engineers" bla bla bla. I looked more closely and it was indeed a flyer advertising the Faneuil Hall conference coming up soon here in Boston.
