CIA admits it destroyed tapes of interrogations
One way, as may be evidenced from this latest development of CIA destroying tapes of "al Qaeda" detainees allegedly torturous interrogations, could be to say that the whole misunderstanding was a result of overzealous interrogators and their prey who made up the whole account of al Qaeda responsibility to stop the torture. Conveniently, no evidence need be reviewed since it has allegedly been destroyed.
Of course it's probably not quite like that, but wouldn't it be funny if it were? And honestly, can anyone think of a more plausible way to go back and admit that the entire 9/11 story was one big cock-up due to (again) groupthink and failures of imagination?

I don't see it actually happening, but watching them try to backpeddle through the vast ocean of crap they've presented us with would certainly constitute a nice hors d'oeuvre of redemption.

Seriously, the more this develops the more I'm convinced that those who have been pushing LIHOP and the Saudi/Paki connection are real dicks. You kind of hope as time goes by that some people will just STOP LYING but it seems they are determined to keep trying to weave their fake narrative. If there is a "terrorist attack" in the US or against the US anywhere in the world I will assume until proven otherwise that it is the real 9/11 perps behind it, trying to frame yet another patsy. And I will not be happy at all if I see any so-called truthers going along with it if it happens to involve Saudi Arabia or Pakistan. If things go in that direction I will not be censoring my thoughts or refraining from naming names and adding them to my list of perps and their defenders. Having the movement infiltrated by random intel or law enforcement is one thing. Having it infiltrated by the perps is something altogether different. I have not to date included any discussion of perp-infiltration in my public outreach but that may have to change if this shit continues.

What is odd is that in comments you have "two sides" one that says oh yeah the evil Saudis and Pakistanis did 9/11 and the other that says no no no, those were cartoon planes inserted by the mainstream media. Riiiiiight. Here's my guess--the no planers and LIHOPPERS serve similar purposes. Readers of the HuffPost can choose whether to believe that Saudis and Pakis were responsible for 9/11, OR that no planes hit the twin towers. Either way, there is no need to discuss Dov Zakheim and his remote control technology. And with the tapes conveniently destroyed we'll "never know" exactly what that Saudi/Paki connection was. How conveeeenient! One commenter even suggests that the Saudis may have set the explosives in the towers because that way we can explain why no one has squealed--the Saudis assassinated all their agents. What a tangled web they weave, indeed!

that so many still seem so determined to keep lying about EVERYTHING. do they think we have short memories? that we won't remember how long this was dragged out when they are pleading for clemency? I know these are the most radical dregs, Posner and Frum, but people like Huffington and Oprah and all the other see nothing know nothings--do they realize they are throwing away everything they ever worked for? Who do they think will be sticking up for them when the extent of their betrayal by silence is exposed?
