Who is Efraim Halevy?

He was the head of Mossad from 1998 to 2002 (his replacement took the position September 11, 2002)

I have been reading a mainstream (meaning limited hangout) book on the Mossad called Gideon's Spies. It mentions the art student spy ring in detail, but fails to mention the Dancing Israelis at all. It points out how sloppy the art student operation was and explains that these were Mossad trainees getting some experience.

Could it be that the purpose of the vast, obvious "spy ring" was to deflect attention from the smaller operation that the Dancing Israelis were part of? The book also mentions how Tenet was on the phone up to 12 times a day after 9/11 with his Halevy demanding to know how much Mossad had known before 9/11. As the book tells it it sounds like Tenet was just upset they didn't share the info about al Qaeda. But you know what? I bet Tenet knew exactly what had happened. I bet the Medal of Freedom was his bribe for shutting up about it. Turns out Tenet told Condi, Condi checked with Clarke, and then Bush talked to Sharon, and shortly thereafter Halevy was removed from his position--one year to the day after 9/11.

Now why do we never see this man's name come up in discussions about 9/11 Truth? Why is his name apparently so studiously avoided by the "truth" movement? Why would Jon Stewart be helping him polish his nice guy image on American TV?
