Intriguing 9/11 Truth Post on Boston Indymedia

[EDIT: see comments below--I may have been too hasty!]
Read the whole thing here, this is just the last, best part:
http://boston.indymedia.org/newswire/display/204267/index.php
But what does the 9-11 Truth Movement imply if many of its theories are substantially correct (even if some are not so correct)? How does the truth movement challenge the average American on his of her presumptions about the kind of country one resides? There has too be a reason why so few Americans are willing to do their own research on this matter and to show enough honest curiosity as to investigate the issues within the propaganda war that resides—rather than to cling to what one wants to believe based on how the talking heads diss one idea or another? They throw the proverbial red herring and followers are rejecting the entire conclusion that it was not 19 Arabs with box cutters who could fly puddle jumpers.
One thing is for sure, within the propaganda war the Powers That Be are definitely not looking too closely to make sense on how a third Building 7 just happens to collapse by a mere fire on the same day and same block of the Twin Towers—one of “many†obvious red flags.
“He who only knows his own side of the case knows little of that.â€
John Stuart Mills
The Truth Movement basically says that critical elements (individuals) within the U.S. government (not anywhere close to most employees of the government or its agencies) were corrupted enough to employ a war on their own people for political or personal advantage. There is simply no way this could have been pulled off without insider involvement. Yet this implication is a threat to anyone who has been living in the fantasy that America is a Utopia (even if from a materialist perspective it has been).
“Belief is harder to shake than knowledge.â€
Adolf Hitler
The 9-11 truth movement does not say that the official U.S. government did 9-11; but rather a “secret†rogue cabal within the government likely did it—or at least that is what the evidence strongly suggests—likely with the help of others individuals that represent both corporate elites or other rogue elements from other nations. Therefore the 9-11 truth movement is not an indictment on the official U.S. Government. Nevertheless it is too hard for most Americans to believe that people within their own culture would consider doing something this corrupt.
“There is no sin but ignorance.â€
Christopher Marlowe
When one looks at the “results†or consequences of what 9-11 has wrought it looks like a classical “false flag†operation. Two invasive wars (Afghanistan and Iraq) happened that would have been impossible without such a scapegoat provocation (with more wars in the Neocon plans). Secondly a major propaganda war continues that strenuously attempts to pit the Christian West on the side of Israel against Muslims and Arabs has been for the most part a success as media conspiracy (Israel’s enemy of Saddam Hussein and his standing army has been dismantled—he actually had scud missiles that could hit Tel Aviv and he sided with the Palestinians’ cause). Third, many corporations and investors have become wealthy on the military industrial complex and energy industry. Fourth, U.S. liberties have been dismantled as the government anticipates potential internal rebellion. So we now reside within a state where all surveillance is possible and distrust of one’s neighbors is encouraged. Firth, Israel’s enemy of Iran, who has also been siding with the Palestinians, are in U.S. cross hairs. Third; Israel continues to appropriate more land and resource from Palestinians based on their cockamamie “theory†that God gave them that “theocratic†land in ancient times—but even their own literature tells us that Abraham and company was a Johnny come lately from Ur Mesopotamia to take land in Canaan—similar to how European Caucasians stole the native peoples’ land here in the United States millennia later.
Furthermore after 9-11, America has become more like Israel with fences being built around it and its population told that Arabs and Muslims are “the†enemy—while this government gets more autocratic. Hence the American reaction to 9-11 was a classic Straussian Neo-Con operation that needed to mobilize its populace against an outside enemy. 9-11 was not just an attack on U.S. soil—it was a ground zero for an entire political stage of pre-planned events.
And when looks at other conspiracy theories floating around regarding the Middle East we do have a series of conspiracies that do seem to plausibly coordinate:
A) Secret construction of websites that purport to be official Al Qaeda websites—but may well be third party fronts paid to private corporations that claim to send Al Qaeda messages. Yet people in the mainstream media refer to Al Qaeda as a given fact.
Secret propaganda about the concept of Al Qaeda (see film series The Power of Nightmares: Rise of the Politics of Fear, is a BBC documentary film series, written and produced by Adam Curtis)
B) ) as if it were more a concept of propaganda than an actual entity as defined in the West.
C) Secret terrorist attacks carried out by third party corporate employees that pretend to be the purported enemy.
In learning nations with some integrity skeptics at least study the varying points of view before jumping to conclusions. Whereas in a reactionary culture, skeptics reject opposing ideas outright without any examination—or pretend to perfunctorily examine the issues but with snide motives—then proclaim the theories en masse are worthless. Unfortunately the second type of skepticism is what is mostly found in the United States—irrespective of any dire consequences. A propaganda war here is a war that truth will have a very difficult time winning. The sad fact is that Americans are even more gullible and naïve than the German society of the 1930s.
Our founding fathers were leery of this country having a standing army. But what would they have thought of having a standing intelligence apparatus that has come to work for corporate interests and other special interests at the expense of true national security and the civil rights of the people?
Americans have been forewarned about their own government’s interference in other countries’ affairs for a long time—but have chosen to remain asleep. It never bothered them much, in their xenophobic ignorance, if other people were paying the price.
“What good fortune for those in power that people do not think.â€

Quoting Nietzsche and pissing on religion
The second part of the article, the one you posted here is pretty good.
The trouble is, before the author gets there, he first had to insult Christians, Muslims and Jews alike with the remark of the Hebrew tribal God, being plagiarized by Moses from some Egyptian deity and being the equivalent of Santa Claus and the tooth fairy.
The anti-religious rant had no relevance to the subject.
If he wanted to make the point that Christians are more gullible than others on the matter of 9/11, then his argument doesn´t sound right.
Some of the best researchers on the matter of the demolitions of the 3 towers are a Christian theology professor and a physics professor from a Mormon university.
And the most fervent supporters of the official story are all members of the mainline media, most of them fervent atheists.
Then he calls the American people a bunch of Morons too rich for their own good.
By the time he gets to the juicy part of the article, that the theories of the 9/11 truth movement are logical and Israel had a motive to be involved, he is only preaching to the choir, atheists with a hatred for anything religious, who know those facts already.
What about a bit of retaliation by me pissing on Nietzsche.
I do have an issue with that guy, who proclaimed himself God after killing off the competition
- a man who, after being supported by his sisters for most of his life, developed a severely misogynistic ideology,
- a man who stated that Übermenschen could not be subjected to the restrains of common law, for instance the restrains against murdering somebody
- a man who stated that compassion is a weakness taught by Christianity, a sin against nature which intended only the fittest to survive
- and a man who, shortly after leaving the world this great heritage of wisdom, died in an asylum from syphillis inflicted insanity.
Who else does the author quote? Let´s see
- Plato, the God-father of fascist ideology
- or Christopher Marlowe, the first cynic nihilist
Over 80% of Americans are Christians and then there are the people of other religions. Atheists are only a tiny minority. Who are going to be your allies, if you keep on pissing off the religious people just for fun or out of pure unadulterated hatred.
There are sometimes good reasons for criticizing religious fanatics or religious leaders, no doubt, but just pissing on religion for no damn reason at all, turns religious people off.
Atheists claim their faith is not a religion. Why are they then so intolerant?
Why do they have to convert everybody else to their belief system?
And why do they keep running around with a chip on their shoulder and an enormous superiority complex?
The worst mass-murderers of the last century Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Ben Gurion and Ariel Sharon where all a bunch of professed atheists.
And don´t give me the crap that Hitler was a Catholic. He severely persecuted the Catholic church, killing both clergy and lay people. And if we one day get the real numbers, we might find out that there died altogether more Christians in those concentration camps than Jews, if you include Protestant dissidents, pacifistic Jehova Witnesses, Orthodox Russians and Serbs and Gypsies, who were also Christians of different denominations.
And the Neocons, who might quite possibly in the near future be making the top of the list of worst mass-murderers in human history, after setting the whole Middle East on fire and killing besides untold millions of Arabic Muslims and Christians also about 27 million Iranians from all faiths and denominations (that´s the proposed Neocon plan so far) are also a bunch of freaking atheists. They believe that all religions are useful deceptions, a good tool to control the masses.
And just because the Neocons believe this, that doesn´t make it necessarily true, does it?
Most atheist have not the slightest clue of what universal religions like Christianity and Islam are all about because they never go beyond the superficial.
Well, anyway, we need to talk to each other about real issues in a way, that will not get us needlessly at each others throat from the start.
I know, that questioning certain aspects of Jewish history is hurtful for Jews, but that is relevant to the issue of 9/11 and the subsequent wars and Israeli criminal behavior in the Middle East. The question of the existence of God or if He is the one as described in the Bible is not relevant and a needless provocative distraction from the issues.
And after I might have pissed you of for good
I still humbly ask, if I might be permitted into the inner circle of registration.
I´m no-one special and I might be wrong.
nope, not at all...
I have a confession--I skimmed most of it and only really read the part I quoted carefully. I think I was just too happy to see Indymedia being host to a decent take on 9/11 itself. By your description it sounds like maybe a Zeitgeist type rant? In any case, I will change the title from "Great" to "Intriguing" and thank you for sharing your views frankly! I think that the god/no god divide is a VERY important one to address, and may even make the zionism/judaism argument seem like a walk in the park...
I just stumbled upon this speech by Charlton Heston
click me!
He gave it at Harvard in '99, apparently. And I gotta say that after reading it, I have a completely different picture of the guy -- formerly painted only by Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine", btw...
Should show it to those interviewees at H^2.
thanks bruce
completely different picture indeed. Very nice speech.
Have you ever seen this about "Bowling for Columbine"?
Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine" won the Oscar for best documentary. Unfortunately, it is not a documentary, by the Academy's own definition.
The injustice here is not so much to the viewer, as to the independent producers of real documentaries. These struggle in a field which receives but a fraction of the recognition and financing of the "entertainment industry." They are protected by Academy rules limiting the documentary competition to nonfiction.
Bowling is fiction. It makes its points by deceiving and by misleading the viewer. Statements are made which are false. Moore leads the reader to draw inferences which he must have known were wrong. Indeed, even speeches shown on screen are heavily edited, so that sentences are assembled in the speaker's voice, but which were not sentences he uttered. Bowling uses deception as its primary tool of persuasion and effect.
A film which does this may be a commercial success. It may be entertaining. But it is not a documentary. One need only consult Rule 12 of the rules for the Academy Award: a documentary is a non-fictional movie.
The point is not that Bowling is biased. No, the point is that Bowling is deliberately, seriously, and consistently deceptive.
That makes it propaganda.
There's Moore here:

Big-time Propaganda.
What agenda do you think he was furthering by vilifying firearms and not touching the true crime of psyche meds? I've never been a fan of Moore's, he's just too transparent.

Psych meds
Hey Big_D, I've been meaning to make a comment on your posts about psych meds. I'm sure that we agree that they are over-prescribed in the sense that for many people who get an SSRI from their general practitioner, lifestyle changes might induce some of the same benefits. Also, they are very problematic for teens because they do induce destructive behavior sometimes. (My theory about that is that depression is actually a coping mechanism for handling overwhelming bad feelings for some people -- and if you relieve the depression without addressing the bad feelings, you're asking for trouble.)
However, I always wince a little at what I read as a blanket indictment of psych meds. I am someone who takes 'em -- and have, on and off, since I was sixteen -- consistently "on" for about the last ten years, except when I was pregnant. I consider myself a "conscious" consumer of these substances. Over time, I have learned what changes they cause in my consciousness and physical well-being, and I find these changes to be helpful. They make a big difference in my ability to function on a daily basis.
People are frequently in the closet about taking meds and there are probably other people who read this board who wince at condemnation of them from people who don't take them. People who are in the closet can't effectively engage in dialog about the issue with you -- you have an advantage over them. Just something to keep in the back of your mind.
hear hear
an imperfect solution perhaps, in a most definitely imperfect world. thanks, cass!
Once again I'm guilty of not clarifying.
And I intend no offense to any adult who may benefit from psyche meds. I do, though, have a huge problem with the (very profitable) medicating of children.
No problem...
I also have a problem with reckless medicating of children -- and the whole psych med industry is enormously profitable, which causes trouble for both children and adults. For instance, supplements of the amino acid tryptophan, which is a serotonin precursor, were taken off the market (because one manufacturer's batch had been contaminated) right about the time that Prozac, a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, came on the market. Both aimed at treating depression by getting more serotonin in the brain more of the time, either by making more (tryptophan) or keeping it around longer (Prozac). Tryptophan = about ten bucks at the health food store. Prozac = a couple hundred bucks at the pharmacy.
take a look at the vaccine industry
The psych meds are just one prong of many that the citizenry is being jabbed with.
take a look at the vaccine industry if you want to see an example of reckless medication combined with reckless governance combined with the youngest members of society.
The propaganda is deeply disturbing. Funny how no one was much scared about chicken pox when I was a kid, now they don't even want you in school unless you've had the experimental live virus known as varicella vaccine injected into your blood stream; otherwise you are considered a dangerous chicken pox spreader (as if it was leprosy or something?!).
Then look at ALL the vaccines _required_ nowadays, the correlation to SIDS and autism, the dreadful infant mortality rate in the US, and ask yourself just what the fuck is going on in this country.
gardisil for just one of the most recent
knew a young woman who had so many cross-system ailments, ending up with her appendix out, ovarian cysts...gardisil. yeah. thanks, tahoo!
i hope y'all are enjoying some spring sunshine and sunsets.
k
you mean gardasil caused that?
caused all that? Sounds like it's meant to prevent ovarian cysts... but I wouldn't be surprised.
I think the industry basically writes the laws requiring their experimental shit be purchased by the millions of doses. The suppression of evidence is remarkable; being a truther def helps one see through the bullshit to both sides of the debate (wouldn't even know there is a debate reading from most information outlets). Sad how many fall for the obvious propaganda hook, line and sinker, "no need to look further, thanks anyway..."
Anyway, thanks Kate, I am enjoying the spring weather and beautiful sunsets!
Refreshingly honest
Perhaps because the topic is somewhat stigmatized in the UK, I find your candour particularly admirable Cass and not for the first time.
Dont go changin (winks whilst snapping fingers and pointing atcha).
Why, thank you... you're so kind :)
It's somewhat stigmatized here, too (which is ironic given how many people have tried them at some point) and I'd like to do my part to counter that stigma.
I guess you can say candor is my middle name...
you told me it was penelope...
what gives? :)
and btw, cass ain't the only one freebasing the happy stuff... ;)

This speech was indeed very good
Like most people I had assumed that Charlton Heston was indeed a senile right-wing fanatic, just because this is how he was portrayed by Michael Moore.
Instead he is a man of real courage and true tolerance.
You can´t believe a single word about anything that´s printed or spoken on mainline media.
And if someone is demonized, he is most likely the good guy.
Dito!
And welcome -- you'll feel right at home here in no time, I believe.
Thanks bruce,
I already do feel at home with you nice folks.
well the hazing hasn't started yet...
we might begin by giving you a really embarassing avatar to force you to figure out how to change it--you see, the annoymouse is taken already by the rowdy gang of anarchists that doesn't want anyone to know who they are, like Bobby Strumblatt of 45 Hickory Lane in Wichita, Kansas. We do our best to thwart the surveillance state by any means necessary!!
