The Truth On That Day

Jpass's picture

The Truth....On That Day
As we gazed, and we're horrified
All victims....hurt deep inside
What went wrong?

Six years....worth of tears
And the lies....that vilify
People.....so sweet inside
Let the Truth Be known...

We've all seen....the buildings
With people....still in them
Demolished....where no chance...of living....was given
So I sing this...so one day...with our faith...
The Truth Will Be Known
Through A Song....
The Truth...On That Day

music from lroar

The music is my interpretation of the song "like red on a rose" performed by Allen Jackson.

I welcome any and all lyrical changes. This is something I just sort of jotted down this morning during a 'force yourself to write' session. I Consider it a rough draft.

I think it could be a hit if polished up and put to a video about Islam being wrongly blamed for 9/11 and all things 'terror'.

Speaking of videos

For some time now, I've wanted to create a youtube format music video for "Heaven's Here On Earth" by Tracy Chapman -- the twist being that I would contrast all positive things being sung with harsh pictures of just the opposite. It's a powerful song, already, but that would really make it hurt.

e.g. "our respect for what is earthly" -- superimposed by Iraq war victims, Mice with human ears on their backs, you get the drift.

Sadly, I neither have experience nor tools to make this happen.

You’re right Jpass,

It could very well be a hit. Thanks so much. It was excellent. Also, I send you my condolences regarding your uncle. I can hear the depth of it all in your voice. Sadness and deep introspection often make for good songwriting, unfortunately.

I liked the relaxed timing of the intro with your voice eventually coming up on the fader. I heard it voice and guitar only, until almost midway, and then a good solid, but simple backbeat kicked in with drums and bass. There are also several good places after the drums and bass kick in to bring in three-part harmony after the beat is established for 4-5 measures. So now in the second half or toward the latter part of the song you have acoustic guitar, bass, drums, and three part harmonies, or your voice with two backup vocalists. I heard it go from simple and sad acoustic guitar only, to a full, almost anthemic feel at the end.

Anyways, the WTCD CD project seems to be on a developmental road of its own.

THanks Laz

And everyone else for sending condolences. It was a very heavy, life changing two weeks for me.
