hiccup
got one for the first time in weeks. sorry for using goons twice in one sentence.
hiccups explained
Hey all, the hiccups are a general error and can have many causes. I have deduced that since sorting out the hosting/DNS issues the remaining hiccups seem to correspond to overzealous bots hitting the site too many times (it could also be an attempt at a DOS but I can't say for sure) Invariably (since the cessation of massive hiccups) I have been able to correct the problem by banning the offending IP, so these episodes should be brief when they occur...
A possible lead on the hiccups
Hey man - hiccups are driving me nuts.
I found a possible cause;
your DNS provider (Jupiter Host) did not include the required dot at the end of the SOA (statement of authority) name server in your domain's zone files.
so when i dig your domain name, (dig WTCDEMOLITION.COM) i see
;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
WTCDEMOLITION.COM. 86400 IN NS NS1-JUPITER.NSWEBHOST.COM.WTCDEMOLITION.COM.
WTCDEMOLITION.COM. 86400 IN NS NS2-JUPITER.NSWEBHOST.COM.WTCDEMOLITION.COM.
when in fact it should return
;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
WTCDEMOLITION.COM. 86400 IN NS NS1-JUPITER.NSWEBHOST.COM.
WTCDEMOLITION.COM. 86400 IN NS NS2-JUPITER.NSWEBHOST.COM.
I'll bet my billion deception dollars that their SOA looks like this
@ IN SOA NS1-JUPITER.NSWEBHOST.COM
but it should look like this
@ IN SOA NS1-JUPITER.NSWEBHOST.COM.
for example of one that is configured correctly, dig 911blogger.com returns
;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
911blogger.com. 86351 IN NS ns1.911blogger.com.
911blogger.com. 86351 IN NS ns2.911blogger.com.
I have no idea if this could cause all the errors, but it is a misconfiguration in the zone file. If you have any questions, need any help, want an alternate DNS provider, etc. I am at your service. And I will take deception dollars if that's what you've got :)

triple post from triple hiccups
Hey man - hiccups are driving me nuts.
hey, thanks
this may have done it!
robots.txt
Hey G,
I've found this helpful to minimize excessive crawling by bots. You can get get significant control over those bots by using a robots.txt file. A sample robots.txt file provided for you by drupal is already here:
http://www.wtcdemolition.com/blog/robots.txt
However, it is ignored in its current location and would not be correct if just copied to your root html directory.
Once configured to your liking, it should be placed in your root html directory ( /public_html, /home, etc. whatever your host provides). In other words, the same directory that contains your home page ( http://www.wtcdemolition.com/index.html ) so that it can be read at this URL:
http://www.wtcdemolition.com/robots.txt
It's not robot science. Pretty simple really. For more, see:
The Web Robots Pages
Information on the robots.txt Robots Exclusion Standard and other articles about writing well-behaved Web robots.

cool, thanks!
and long time no see, D, glad to see you haven't been disappeared! :)
-G
been more sad than angry lately...
and trying to spend more time in direct face-to-face dialog with others about the shit we're in.
they'll probably try and disappear you before me. however, if i'm anywhere near beantown, they'll have to go through me first.
a taste of harvard truthing
not terribly busy today, but i did manage to catch some of the local flavor--a few students advertising their upcoming concert (Bach's Mass in B minus) and some remnants of something like an antiwar movement pulling a billionaires for bush type stunt posing as supporters of the war. and at the end a rare cameo by RT to scare the chilluns with... :)
the tall white building in the background...
...is William James Hall, where Timothy Leary did his LSD experiments and where the Unabomber was traumatized in a bizarre psych experiment as an undergrad...
Nice to see our friend RT,
It was great to see him for a bit there, although I would seriously think about not connecting his face and location so precisely, for safety reasons, ‘cause I’m sure the old WTCD, as one might logically assume, is not a big fan favorite over at Langley, and especially so in Herzliya. I only say this because I care as a friend. Tell him to be safe. We are dealing with the heavy shit here. On second thought though, it is my hope, and probably complete fantasy, that there are some moral, patriotic American-firsters over at Langley who look at our site and say, “Damn, these guys are doing a fucking great job. They are putting it all together and standing up for the integrity of the country, and a real democracy and constitution by revealing the machinations of the seditious criminal gang that has penetrated the machine. Godspeed to Admiral Fallon. Now he needs to buy a battery-powered megaphone and walk around D.C. screaming like a prophet in sackcloth (see: Isaiah and Jeremiah).
I haven’t been on campus since 1978. The video took me back. I have spent hundreds of hours overheating and testing the limits of the Xerox machines at Widener for the copying of rare, difficult to find books from the stacks there. A great library, and I remember it fondly. RT is lucky to get to work and hang there. Harvard Square sure has gotten all modernized since the last time I saw it.
The students of Harvard with their “shock and awe.†Jeez... I know, I know, they’re young folks whose empirical political world awareness stretches back perhaps a mere 9 years, but there are college kids in Iran, Syria, and Lebanon right now who are staring down the barrel of a near-future, nuclear holocaust. My advice, keep your kids from drinking that water.
Is that a lost Beatles album, “The White Building
William James’ “The Varieties of Religious Experience†is a great read, and it pioneered the psychological approach to the understanding of human mystical experience. How symbolically appropriate that Leary would launch his LSD explorations from the William James Building, aside from the fact, of course, that the building housed the Psychology Dept.
And from the world of “dissident,†political-blogger pen-pals from around the globe, it was nice to see one of our good compadres, nonetheless. Now don’t let it happen again! ;) :( We always see each other in text form, which is great, and we are technologically fortunate to be able to do so, but indeed it is nice to get a glimpse of how we are all indeed real flesh and blood who care. The music sharing here also fleshes out the person behind the text. Very cool. My salute of respect and appreciative thanks to all the musicians here, both political and romantic. We are all real, well except for that sock-puppet Harley Guy mahfahk.
hey Laz
Don't worry about ol RT. Any of us could be killed by any number of things on any given day. Also, I'm of the DRG school of thought that being killed for ones beliefs (that turn out to be correct) is at the very least a guarantee that one's family will be financially secure in the form of book royalties and movie rights. Another nice sentiment (and I forget which of the "founding fathers" said it) is that I would rather die standing than live on my knees. And how could I neglect to bring up Rachel Corrie who didn't back down when facing down an Israeli bulldozer? I also believe that far from death being an extinguishing it is quite the opposite--liberation from the mortal coil and all that good stuff.
I gave an AE911 card to the cute lesbian
I sit next to in Gender and Rhetoric (no assigned seats but people always sit in the same place.)
woo hoo!
say cass, speaking of lesbians, can you see if you can access thecrimson.com? either they're down or they're blocking my IP address... :)
It appears that it went down
err, is down.
someone got it up
crimson that is, it's working for me now
Know what?
Going by this shot, you could be the bastard GM offspring of James Belushi and Bill Murray -- and of course, I mean that in the best possible way.
awh, Gret
thank you for this! very nice! the students are adorable, as are you. not to mention with Bach's mass in B-minus audio background setting a very harvard mood. did you talk to those students about 9/11?
thanks mouse!
I *am* fond of Harvard students, which is why I'm trying to help them see the light before this place totally messes them up in the head like it has so many others. To tell the truth I've had some GREAT conversations with more than a few of them. I didn't actually talk to the music kids about 9/11--for better or worse my approach is "let them get used to seeing me (well, the message anyway) and ask once they get curious enough". They're not dumb, they'll come around soon enough!
And Bruce, thanks for the comparison to those comedy hunks--talk about scaring the chilluns! :)
k of k here
yeah, hopefuly they will be curious...but they may be a tad sheepish..
