Vermont towns vote to arrest Bush and Cheney

Below is a news item being sent around by our friend and member Sue S. titled:
"Vermont towns vote to arrest Bush and Cheney"

It brings up the immediate question:
o- Why aren't there similar actions being brought forth by anti-war
or 9/11 Truth activists in the form of referenda or similar legal
initiatives in larger cities or states within the US?

Worse than that:
o- Why aren't there similar actions being brought forth by members
of Government in so-called "independent" countries such as Cyprus,
Greece, Turkey, or within the European Court of Human Rights, the
European Parliament, or the World Court in the form of Prosecutions,
Grand Jury investigations, or similar legal initiatives? What are all
those "revolutionary" politicians doing who are only spouting off
spittle against Imperialism but in reality doing nothing? How can the
simple citizens of a tiny state in the US be more brave than Supreme
Court Judges, Parliament members, Prosecutors and Presidents who have
entire armies at their disposal?

My thanks and gratitude to the citizens of Vermont!

Vermont towns vote to arrest Bush and Cheney
Wed Mar 5, 2008

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Voters in two Vermont towns on Tuesday approved a
measure that would instruct police to arrest President George W. Bush
and Vice President Dick Cheney for "crimes against our Constitution,"
local media reported.

The nonbinding, symbolic measure, passed in Brattleboro and Marlboro in
a state known for taking liberal positions on national issues, instructs
town police to "extradite them to other authorities that may reasonably
contend to prosecute them."

Vermont, home to maple syrup and picture-postcard views, is known for
its liberal politics.

State lawmakers have passed nonbinding resolutions to end the war in
Iraq and impeach Bush and Cheney, and several towns have also passed
resolutions of impeachment. None of them have caught on in Washington.

Bush has never visited the state as president, though he has spent
vacations at his family compound in nearby Maine.

Roughly 12,000 people live in Brattleboro, located on the Connecticut
River in the state's southeastern corner. Nearby Marlboro has a
population of roughly 1,000.

You have a very interesting question there which has also kept me puzzled all this time.

I can answer the question from my country the Philippines, our government is very corrupt and wishes to trade favors with the US. What I can't understand is why the opposition in my country is similarly mute on the matter. At one point, I tried to tell some ranking members of a small political party about 9-11. While one of the two persons in that meeting was receptive to the idea that 9-11 was an inside job, his colleague just couldn't bring himself to believe that the US Gov't could do it. This was so even if I showed him the video of WTC-7 crashing down. In any case, my mini advocacy was probably forgotten the hour after our meeting since they were busy at the time for an approaching elections. I was wondering what your thoughts were on why other countries have not been vocal about 9-11 as a crime given all the good evidence that is already available on the internet. As far as I know, only Iran's Ahmadinejad and Venezuela's Chavez are the only world leaders who have publicly said that 9-11 is not as is shown on CNN.

Best regards,

Juan
