The "Gray Lady" is an empire-loving, war-mongering whore

Philip Shenon's employer makes their party nomination picks, signaling that they are ready to board the next police state train. And, with Kucinich dropping out, there was no need to mention him along side Hitlery, Biraq. "We [the NYT] certainly don’t buy the notion that he [John Edwards] can hold back the tide of globalization." Who ever proffered the notion that he would even try?

According to the Times, "The leading [Republican] candidates have no plan for getting American troops out of Iraq. They are too wedded to discredited economic theories and unwilling even now to break with the legacy of President Bush." The Real Ghouliani gets nixed as the man "whom many New Yorkers came to know and mistrust, is a narrow, obsessively secretive, vindictive man who saw no need to limit police power. Racial polarization was as much a legacy of his tenure as the rebirth of Times Square." Huckabee is out because "his insertion of religion into the race, herding the" "shape-shifting" (their words, not mine) "Mr. Romney into a defense of his beliefs, disqualified him for the Oval Office."

Doing their job to insert the Dem with the biggest butt into the White House, the NYT annoints McCain't as their man because they feel that he knows how to better manage, not end, the war in Iraq.

And, though he is definitely not out and still has a boatload of money, Ron Paul wasn't mentioned once. That comes as no surprise, though. So, I'm still pulling for the guy they obviously fear getting any attention at all.

- he smokes like he's fucking columbo!

right. and a couple more

he reads most of his material off his computer screen--seemingly only half aware that his "newsreader eye" leaves something to be desired. there are parts where he stumbles on some of the words in a clear sign that he's reading from something he doesn't actually understand.

Some shill probably told him this stuff was debunker's gold, and all the script needed was this kid's "je ne sais quoi" to be put to best effect against the insane clown posse that is the truth movement...

I am more worried of Prodi

I am more worried of Prodi losing his post in Italy and the PM position potentially going back to Berlusconi. Prodi aint exactly great but Berlusconi seems much tighter with the US neocons and their other "war on terror" buddies. With France' leadership having gone US friendly as well there will be less opposition to stupid high risk adventures as happened when the US went into Afghanistan and later into Iraq.

In the US race, I had long expected that another AIPAC footstool will be elected whether Republican or Democrat. I hope I will be proven wrong later this year.

From the NYT Middle East Forum ca March 2003

gretavo - 11:22am Mar 30, 2003 EST (# 6307 of 6308)
First off, my apologies to the many for whom my return to the forum is less than a treat.
Re: niteclub - 11:29pm Mar 29, 2003 EST (# 6254 of 6285)
Could you elaborate on your theory of the "superior brains" of the Israeli people? The very idea is so Hitlerian that is more than slightly disturbing to hear it espoused in support of Israel. Also, the way the statement passed without comment from the forum is disappointing.
"Can any present, now doubt that America's war and Israel's war are one and the same war?!"
Don't remember who asked this, but the answer is plain.
What a boon to certain segments of the Israeli governmnet if this were born out by public opinion, and what a tragedy for the American people.
What we have here is a bait and switch in progress. Americans, the majority of whom wanted to give inspections more time to work in Iraq, were nonetheless ignored by the administration, which was eager to launch a strike as soon as possible.
It misled the public into believing that the war would be quick, that American soldiers would come home soon, that the cause was the removal of an imminent threat to the U.S., by attempting to link SH to Al Qaeda. thus playing on the emotions of Americans in relation to the tragedy (in which no Iraqis were involved) of 9-11-01.
This distortion of the justifications for immediate war was put together as a cover for the real purpose, which was to establish a larger permanent American military presence in the middle east.
This ensures a few things for years to come: the U.S. will need a constant, increased supply of weapons costing billions, thus enriching and further empowering the military industrial complex in our country. in turn strengthening conservative political elements that are funded by them.
The U.S. will control one of the world's largest supplies of oil (if not the largest, if you include the U.S.'s own fields in Texas and Alaska.)
Tom Friedman's column today in the NYT makes it clear that the focus of NATO will soon shift to policing the middle east.
Finally, by using Americans'overblown fears of terrorism, the administration has managed to create the appearance of aligning the security interests and strategy of the U.S. not with Israel, but with the Israeli right wing specifically.
Whether enough of the American people can be persuaded to accept this nonsense remains to be seen; they are certainly self-deluded by Fox News, etc. to be capable of it.
Thankfully, Saddam is absolutely right that the U.S. cannot take casualties, especially when the public realizes (as it is beginning to do) that they were intentionally misled on just about every aspect of this war.
Most troubling to Americans should be the unholy alliance that has been formed between three groups:
1)those in it for the money (weapons and oil interests)
2) those in it out of a vague, misplaced notion of patriotism (these are the so-called "patriotic americans" who in groups of 20 or so confronted tens of thousands of anti-war marchers in Boston yesterday, chanting "drop more bombs", "nuke the bastards", and who, when I asked them who they wanted to kill next, one answered "I want to kill YOU", the group also includes the families of servicemen, and of 9-11 victims, and the Americans who are afraid to dissent for fear of offending the sensibilities of all of the above, a fear encouraged by the media)
3)Sympathizers of the Israeli right wing who know the best way to get Americans behind their policies is to deceptively create the impression that we share their interests in occupying Arab land by any means necessary, by exploiting and encouraging paranoia over terrorism.
Because of the current administration's unprecedented reluctance to prov

cont:
Because of the current administration's unprecedented reluctance to provide information on any of its actions, we should not be surprised that doubts linger about the administration's possible involvement in the 9-11 attacks, given that it was those attacks that made the above described alliance palatable to the American electorate.
Bush likes to refer to SH's regime as a house of cards. His isn't the only one.

Bill Clinton: John McCain and Hillary are 'very close'

Hillary Clinton and John McCain are very close, Bill Clinton says.

(CNN) — If Hillary Clinton and John McCain become their party's presidential nominees, the general election race is likely to be a love-fest.

At least according to Bill Clinton.

'I DON'T REMEMBER MEETING REZKO'

Smiling Clintons with Tony Rezko.

Clinton injected the indicted developer's name this week in debate with Obama: 'I was fighting against those ideas when you were practicing law and representing your contributor, Rezko, in his slum landlord business in inner city Chicago.'

Clinton tells NBC 'TODAY' show on Friday: 'I probably have taken hundreds of thousands of pictures. I don't know the man. I wouldn't know him if he walked in the door.'

John McCain -
The Manchurian Candidate?

The group Vietnam Veterans Against McCain attacks Senator John McCain's heroism as a POW in the Vietnam conflict; this is making some waves in the news due to McCain's presidential candidacy. The documentary "Missing, Presumed Dead the Search for America's POWs" however focuses more on Senator John McCain successfully blocking the release of classified POW/MIA documents. Here is an excerpt from that documentary.

John McCain in "Missing, Presumed Dead"
http://www.youtube.com:80/watch?v=xBiti-ZbeO0

John McCain was the primary opposition to the Senate Select Committee on POWs. He bitterly opposed any attempt to rescue any other POWs. This is very strange since John McCain was himself, a POW.

The POWs that might have been rescued, would have been able to give testimony about the 32 propaganda tapes that John McCain made for the communists, while in Viet Nam. The 32 propaganda tapes are still "classified" so that no one can see them.

McCain was bombing women in a lightbulb factory (according to Newsweek) when shot down in North Vietnam. He has never failed to defend any illegal or violent war in which the US leaders involved the citizens.

McCain has the support of Henry Kissinger (indicted in Belgium for war crimes), of Joe Lieberman, neocon rejected by Democrats in Connecticut, and other war profiteers.

The McCain Feingold bill made it possible for war profiteers to run nonstop swift boat attack ads ... a campaign to help in Bush's illegal installation in the White House.

McCain approves the Bush tax cuts for the rich which in combination with the Iraq and Afghanistan fiascos have caused trillions in deficit.
