What's the background on this Bill Douglas person? Is he the same guy discussed in the "op ed news" thread? Evidently, he is VERY enthusiastic about the imminent release of this novel, whose website (according to the blog at Apt 911B) will feature links to 9/11 Truth sites. Someone claiming to be the founder of the "9/11 Visibility Project" just enrolled at BOTH Portland 9/11 truth yahoo groups, which I take to be a further attempt to generate interest in this project, as described here

Now, just because the people who were erroneously named as hijackers did this or that does not mean that they hijacked anything. That some planes were flown into the twin towers seems apparent. That there was a deliberate "stand down order" seems less likely than that the air defense system was set up for failure that day by parties unknown, but it's certainly possible. The million dollar question is how the demolition of the twin towers and building 7 fits into the rest. Alleged hijackings that have never been proven to have happened to any degree of certitude would have had nothing to do (except as a decoy) with the demolition of the twin towers and building 7.
If Shell Game is going to answer that question and give a plausible account of the role played by Lewis Eisenberg, Lawrence Silverstein, Alvin Hellerstein, the Dancing Israelis, etc. then I will be happy to purchase a copy to see what it has to offer. Since an excerpt I have seen includes a bit of absurd holocaust nonsense (that the Nazis used fat from Jews to run the crematoria ovens day and night) I think I can guess how many of the aforementioned Zionists will figure into the story.

If I hadn't followed the David Shayler implosion (http://wtcdemolition.com/blog/node/239), I would not have entertained the possibility that Bill Douglas was a shill. But knowing how long Shayler was developed as a public 9-11 champion who then suddenly goes crazy (to discredit 9-11 truth), I know it is very possible that someone who has been as visibly pro 9-11 truth for years can turn out to be an agent of sorts with a hidden agenda (in Douglas' case, protecting the Zionists).

Thanks -- I went back and looked at that thread when his name came up in relation to this book, and I wanted a little dot-connection reality check. This is shaping up into something quite evil -- and I suspect it will tie in to the situation in Pakistan. Hillary is calling for an international investigation of the Bhutto assassination -- jeez, there's all kinds of shit that could turn up. They might find out that Pakistan did 9/11!

More than the point above however, I think the partial truth advanced by the book (Neocons are complicit) will be used as leverage by the Zionists to demand another "favor" from the Neocons, like invade Iran or whatever.

What Shell Game seems to be about is two things:

I couldn't really say but I wonder about Kevin Ryan and David Griffin endorsing this shlock... they're the only two in the list of endorsers (now that YT is off) who I still have faith in up to now but this has made me question at the very least their judgement, certainly their motives (are they being pressured by someone, or lied to about something) and, god forbid, their sincerity.

McKinney has had the audacity to raise questions that any thoughtful American would ask about the level of prior knowledge that Bush, the Pentagon and the intelligence agencies had regarding the 9-11 attack and who will benefit financially from the response to these events, including those close to Bush. She called for a full investigation into 9-11, and we should back her in this.

Disinformation can be 90% accurate (to gain trust) and 10% misleading lies (the actual mission objective). I am not saying Bill is a paid shill, but it is not impossible (there is still the possibility he is just ignorant) and right now he is not making good sense promoting the book the way he did.

So this book offers a justification for 9/11 -- peak oil -- and a justification for another 9/11 -- Iran's pursuit of nuclear energy that will bring the "anarchy and the collapse of Western civilization." This appears to be the fall back I always expected -- we did it for the good of the country. I assume that many of the perpetrators genuinely believed that. I think they should be allowed to offer this in mitigation at sentencing.
Goethe said "We are never deceived, we deceive ourselves." The biggest obstacle to 9/11 truth is that people don't want to know. People want a nice justification for wars over control of resources.
Here's an earlier example of justification, in Three Days of the Condor:
Higgins: It's simple economics. Today it's oil, right? In ten or fifteen years, food. Plutonium. Maybe even sooner. Now, what do you think the people are gonna want us to do then?

how can there be an honest discussion of hitting Iran w/o Israel
I do not think the US Gov't really fears Iranian nukes. Just like Iraq WMD, this feigned fear is propaganda. While oil is a possible motive for Iraq, the greatest motivation for attacking Iran is Israel.
The book is just a novel so I will not critique it for being incomplete or misleading. For the same reason, I do not think it worth endorsing as a vehicle for 9-11 advocacy. At worst it is designed for some devious political ploy and I certainly won't give my money to support it.
