are you saying there is no such thing as Islamic terrorism?

are you? ARE YOU? It sure sounds like you are saying that Islamic terrorism doesn't exist, C455. It's as if the Cole blew up itself, that the twin towers were holograms, and that muslims don't have a million reasons to hate Israel and America. Why do you so hate Islamic terrorists that you DENY THEIR EXISTENCE?? Why do you--oh shit, sorry, I thought this was truthaction.org...

Norway is an odd choice as a Muslim terror target:
Norway has endorsed Palestinian statehood. See this, this and this
Norway has excluded Isareli investments. As Haaertz reported last year:

Norway’s 450 billion euro oil-riches fund has excluded two Israeli firms involved in developing settlements ... on ethical grounds, Norway’s finance ministry said on Monday.
Indeed, Senator Lieberman has accused Norway of promoting anti-semitism

Norway has also announced its plan to withdraw from the Libyan war
The summer camp where the shootings took place had just concluded a pro-Palestinian rally the day before

The pro Palestinian stance

The pro Palestinian stance of Norwegians is exactly the reason a Zionist would target Norway with an attack that is blamed on Islamic terrorists. The intended effect is to sway Norwegians from supporting Palestinians.

If anything, this is what makes me think this was a bigger plot than one lone rightwing nut case.

juandelacruz's picture

Earlier reports coming out

Earlier reports coming out of Google News pointed at Islamic terrorists, but the later reports pointed at an alleged right wing individual.

This reeks a bit like a failed false flag like Oklahoma.

Hmmm....

Saturday, July 23, 2011 - 08:04 - Norway

Norwegian TV2 reported on Thursday that "Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store, together with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation correspondent Sidsel Wold and Norwegian People’s Aid Kirsten Belck-Olsen, discussed the the deadlock between Israel and the Palestinian Authority".

As foreign minister arrived on Utoya, he was met with a demand from the youth group that Norway must recognize a Palestinian state.

"The Palestinians must have their own state, the occupation must end, the wall must be demolished and it must happen now", said the Foreign Minister to cheers from the audience.

Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store was met by demands that Norway must recognize a Palestinian state when he visited the Labour Youth League summer camp at Utoya on Thursday. [Reuters]

sad

I read more news articles, seems like it is just a tragic right wing nut case. I could be wrong though, but all my sources are internet news and maybe the truth is being filtered out.

gretavo's picture

my guess...

...is that the idea was to have the bombing be blamed on Islamic extremists so that the issue of the shooting at the youth camp coming on the heels of the pro-Palestinian rally there would be ignored.

juandelacruz's picture

If this was to be blamed on

If this was to be blamed on Islamists, I would have expected more effort to escape undetected, but there seemed to have been no effort by the gun man to escape, and once caught it would have made the intended psy op untenable. The same can be said of Oklahoma, but at least in Oklahoma, we have the report of Partain to verify that there was indeed a bigger plot.

gretavo's picture

like OKC

my thoughts exactly.

juandelacruz's picture

If it was to be blamed on

If it was to be blamed on Islamic militants, I would expect someone try to hide the shooter, not let him get caught and identified. If he was intended to be caught, he would have been at least looking like an Islamist (in Mumbai the gun man who was caught was allegedly Pakistani though he was actually wearing articles of clothing that is identified with Hindus).

Of course just like in Oklahoma, perhaps the intended psyop victim, the government may be refusing to play up the Islamic angle or was caught out by the unintended capture of the instigator that they have no choice but to squash the Islamic angle.

In the case of Oklahoma however, the hidden explosives in the building and report by Gen. Partain gave away the plot that it was an intentional false flag blamed on Arabs but which was managed by the Clinton admin to be due to Right wing extremists. From what we know, it was likely the work of pro-Zionist, perhaps Mossad spooks who destroyed the building with CD and paraded Arab looking suspects around Oklahoma. McVeigh getting caught was probably not intended or perhaps was a sloppy part of the plan which I do not understand to this day. He seemed to have the elements of a patsy but he is also the total opposite of the intended red flag Arab patsy. The Clinton admin refused to play along with the Arab angle, but they did blame it on McVeigh only even if the building explosives point to a much bigger plot.

So what can give away this plot in Norway is if someone can detect tell tale signs that do not match the lone nut case hypothesis.

One of the things I would investigate if I could are the claims that AlQuaeda claimed responsibility for the attack. Who received the claims? Did they really receive these claims or were these claims made up by the reporter? Were there reports that came out before the event?

Another worth investigating is if any of the explosive damage do not match the explosives allegedly used by the suspect. In Oklahoma, as in 9-11 this was the most solid giveaway.

gretavo's picture

undetonated explosives found at the site of the youth camp...

...who knows maybe the plan was for him *not* to get caught (in which case looking like a cop might help as opposed to dressing in "those sheikh uniform") then detonate the explosives as a distraction to make his getaway, leaving a passport or koran or gun manual to be conveniently found?

juandelacruz's picture

Wearing the cop uniform

Wearing the cop uniform seems like a potential getaway plan. But he did not seem interested in running away, only killing as many as he could. Could he have thrown away his getaway plan being half insane? Maybe? Anyway, with my limited info I could be very wrong and I am open to other interpretation of the accounts available.

Norway's attitude towards Palestine makes it a prime candidate for a Zionist false flag attack. So this atrocity is very much suspect off the bat. I just can't find that WTC7 smoking gun just yet which would lead me to conclude that it definitely is a Zionist cabal hit like 9-11 was.

edit:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/norway/8657727/Norway-s...

Here is a public manifesto the suspect wrote which further supports my observation that he was not seriously intending to escape.

I do not take this as more than speculation or disinfo for now as it is not yet corroborated. But it may be the start to official news unraveling.

juandelacruz's picture

What if we got OKC all wrong?

What if OKC was intended to target specific right wingers and Neocons all along rather than a false flag attack to be blamed on Arabs or Muslims. Think of this scenario.

Netanyahu tells Cheney "Let's do a false flag attack, blame it on Iraq, this will gain the right wing sympathy with voters, then you can become the next VP, you can then send troops to Iraq and extract the oil". Cheney agrees and offers personally loyal operatives including McVeigh to participate. The plan is hatched, a hit on the Oklahoma federal building to be blamed on Arab terrorists. Rouge US ops wire the building while Mossad supply the Arab patsies.

In the last minute, the plan is somehow shifted such that McVeigh is caught and the Arab patsies disappear rather than take the blame. Netanyahu says "Oops, looks like your man got caught. We can put this behind but let's plan a bigger false flag attack when you get into the White House. If we don't do this, McVeigh's links to you will be front page on Fox News, so you have no choice really."

Now think of this happening in Norway.

Norway terror suspect attacked Islam, multiculturalism online

Anders Behring Breivik, 32, has been charged for the attacks in Norway in which at least 91 people were killed.
By Reuters Tags: Islam

The Norwegian charged with going on a killing spree in which at least 91 people died is a former member of a populist anti-immigration party who wrote blogs attacking multiculturalism and Islam.

The suspect, detained after 84 people were gunned down at a youth camp and another 7 killed in a bomb attack on Friday, has been identified by Norwegian media as Anders Behring Breivik.

Website entries under Breivik's name criticized European policies of trying to accommodate the cultures of different ethnic groups, and claimed a significant minority of young British Moslems back radical Islamic militancy.

"When did multiculturalism cease to be an ideology designed to deconstruct European culture, traditions, identity and nation-states?" said one entry, posted on Feb. 2, 2010 on the right-wing website www.document.no.

"According to two studies, 13 percent of young British Muslims aged between 15 and 25 support al-Qaida ideology," said another entry dated Feb. 16 last year.

Police searched an apartment in an Oslo suburb on Friday, but neighbors said the home belonged to Breivik's mother, whom they described as a nice lady.

Deputy Police Chief Roger Andresen would not speculate on the motives for what was believed to be the deadliest attack by a lone gunman anywhere in modern times. But they said the man in custody had described himself on his Facebook page as leaning towards right-wing Christianity.

Breivik had also been a member of the Progress Party, the second largest in parliament, the party's head of cohmmunications Fredrik Farber said. Breivik was a member from 2004 to 2006 and in its youth party from 1997-2006/2007.

The Progress Party wants far tighter restrictions on immigration, whereas the center-left government backs multiculturalism. The party leads some polls of public opinion.

Progress leader Siv Jensen stressed he had left the party.

"He is not a member any more," she told Reuters. "It makes me very sad that he was a member at an earlier point. He was never very active and we have a hard time finding anyone who knows much about him."

Farber said: "He was a member and had some participation in the local chapter in Oslo but stopped paying his membership dues and ceased being a member in 2006 or 2007."

Breivik was also a freemason, said a spokesman for the organization. Freemasons meet in secretive fraternal groups in many parts of the world.

well looky here...

"Members of political youth organizations in Norway have been known to naively and openly raise financial support for organizations officially listed as terrorist groups such as PFLP, Hamas and Hezbollah.

Socialist Youth of Norway’s Socialist Party had sponsored a summer camp to collect funds to support the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) which is listed as a terrorist group under U.S. and EU watch lists.[2] PFLP has had a long history of active terrorist activities ranging from numerous airplane hijackings, airline bombings and suicide bombings. Most victims were normal civilians.

Officially during the war in Lebanon 2006, one of Norway's socialist parties had made a clear policy not to support Hezbollah as long as they targeted civilians, but endorsed support for military targets.

Each of the local and distinct connections from the group to a few South Americans, the landlord- the Colombian rented the house from- a local leftwing political member of a socialist youth organization that, according to the Colombian newspaper Semana based on emails retrieved from the computer of a FARC leader, was tied to FARC, all were closely associated by the “group” of friends within the clique including the Halliburton employee that were in contact with the Colombian.

One crystal clear and universal fact about political organizations whether from far left or far right is that most if not all has some form of corrupt connection to armed militant groups (often designated as terrorists) that they exploit for political purposes behind the curtain to further their ‘legitimate goals’ against oppositions. Norwegian political organizations are no exception."

"After seeing her out of control ways and behavior, there were simply too many ‘red light’ warnings flaring and far too many coincidences overlapping each other. This convinced me enough to write up a memo concerning Hachim’s son Jamal as a possible suicide bomber candidate due to the events, patterns and social network around this woman, the group, the clique, and the group’s close friend’s ties to Noukhaev, Saidov and Surikov’s Chechen network and his rendezvous in the Caucasus town, Russia when Anton Surikov was present. Especially Hachim’s son’s poems described with a lot of passion about committing suicide for a cause. His poems and his fascination with Dante Alighieri came at a time when the Muhammed cartoons were published by Jyllands Posten in Denmark that triggered many other newspapers to publish the cartoons and then was republished by Magazinet in Norway co owned by the Zionist Christian extremist Ulf Ekman and Living Word. The uproar against Norway despite the fact that many newspapers around the world had already published the Muhammed cartoons, Magazinet became an extra added insult because it was republished from a magazine controlled by rightwing Christian Zionists Ulf Ekman and pro Israeli Living Word evangelist movement. This was regarded as a deliberate provocation with the blessings of the mainstream public.

The issue with Jamal’s poems was left lurking in the back of my head for most of the year. Several other issues began popping up that eventually lead me to write up the first draft of the report. Before I did, I went through painstaking research and a lot of thought to figure out how I was going to handle this. I had to consider all the pro’s and con’s in dealing with this. After all, this was about Jamal and his family’s life, reputation and his future to consider versus many other lives including his if he would have been targeted as a recruit.

Again the elderly woman’s abrupt involvement with a Pashtun businessman whose former bar catered to Arfan Bhatti’s gang, Bhatti’s ties to Pakistan, KLA and network and strong indications of one of her friends in touch through his Baltic friend with Anton Surikov, Ruslan Saidov and Khoz Noukhaev’s network, who also had tight connections to KLA, I realized there were too many things happening that surmounted to an increasing threat assessment.

By October, 2006, I had sent in a report about a possible suicide bomber candidate through an officer in the Norwegian Military due to the concurring conditions and political turmoil of various concerns. Norwegian rightwing Christian ‘Magazinet’ republished the Muhammed cartoons that caused more uproar with Muslims. Cheney and the neocons were trying to gather allies for an eventual conflict in Iran and Israel invaded Lebanon in what was called “Operation Clean Break” based on Perle and Feith’s policies to Likud. Norway was one of the main players in the cease fire negotiations which again interfered with the neoconservatives agendas. All were political primers for pending terrorist acts. At first, I didn’t have all the puzzles put together but knew enough that my instincts were flaring like rockets’ red glare. Jamal as a candidate seemed to fit right in with emotional, demographic, idealistic, political and sociological motives.

The report was specifically laid out not to accuse the kid of being a terrorist but as a proactive intervention to avoid any potential opportunities for this kid to be recruited. I needed to ‘burn’ this kid to prevent any possibility of recruitment. Also without placing this kid in harm’s way, defaming his personality and to ensure his possibilities for a future were not tainted if I was wrong. This kid is very bright and talented and I refused to disrespect that. But I also had to take into account the overwhelming indications that could have placed his and others lives at risk. His expressions in his poems and his father and uncle’s relationship to the member of the suspected group in Trollville and their continued relationship and continued contact with other shady friends who were apparently in contact with extremist networks would serve as catalysts to recruit Jamal as a suicide bomber. All it takes is unwitting communication to the wrong people and place this model candidate on their radar to exploit. Ruslan Saidov was that exact person to take advantage of recruiting this kid.

Note: The suicide bomber candidate and his father had no direct or indirect ties to any terrorist group other than the group that were setting them up as terrorists. This group (opportunists) is initially suspected of helping to recruit this kid through thier Baltic contact to Surikov and to a university in England in 2007 which was directly connected to Anton Surikov's organization IPROG. All in all it was clear that the suicide bomber candidate, his father, his uncle and a few others were being set up as escape goats by this group who were involved with contacting and gathering connections that made a Norwegian homegrown terrorist cell seem apparent and imminent."

gretavo's picture

and more...

The Trollville group and clique and environments I describe above as a whole and any involvement with these criminal networks are easily condusive to exploitation for politically corrupt goals by government or corporate elite entities and those who play part in these shady environments allow for the probability of being exploited and leaving an open opportunity for the development of violent groups or 'terrorist groups' under falseflag terms.
As described in the "Abrams Agenda", "How convenient would it be to have a 'terrorist cell' combined with North Africans linked to Iran/Syrian backed Polisario Front with access to the Nobel Peace Prize concert - A lebanese family (vaguely) linked to Iranian backed goups in Southern Lebanon (note: most southern Lebanese have some form of contact with Hezbollah, PFLP-GC or other groups but doesnt make them a terrorist with the exception of Bush doctrine where everyones a terrorist) and a Pakistani tied to a Norwegian born Pakistani 'terrorist' (already indicted for targeting a Jewish synagogue and terrorist plans against the U.S and Israeli Embassy) with ties to a KLA connected crime boss and add a group of Chechen dissidents and former Mujahideen (present in the town where the explosives were uncovered) - also tied to KLA - Al Qaida?"

"Would a terrorist act against a former U.S Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize Concert be enough to trigger war against Iran given Cheney's trigger happy itchy finger moments in 2007 to strike Iran?"

The deceitful, reckless and criminally negligent acts of the Trollville clique and group endangered not only these individuals that were being set up but many others and even at worst case scenario could have triggered war! First World War was started with one shot, the Iraq war was started with fabricated lies and these other wars continue due to direct corruption!
Think before you act!!!

The omnipotence of Al Qaeda and meaninglessness of "Terrorism"

The omnipotence of Al Qaeda and meaninglessness of

AP
An injured woman is assisted from a damaged building in Oslo, Friday, after an explosion rocked the city.

(updated below - Update II)

For much of the day yesterday, the featured headline on The New York Times online front page strongly suggested that Muslims were responsible for the attacks on Oslo; that led to definitive statements on the BBC and elsewhere that Muslims were the culprits.  The Washington Post's Jennifer Rubin wrote a whole column based on the assertion that Muslims were responsible, one that, as James Fallows notes, remains at the Post with no corrections or updates.  The morning statement issued by President Obama
-- "It's a reminder that the entire international community holds a
stake in preventing this kind of terror from occurring" and "we have to
work cooperatively together both on intelligence and in terms of
prevention of these kinds of horrible attacks" -- appeared to assume,
though (to its credit) did not overtly state, that the perpetrator was
an international terrorist group.

But now it turns out that the alleged perpetrator wasn't from an international Muslim extremist group at all, but was rather a right-wing Norwegian nationalist with a history of anti-Muslim commentary and an affection for Muslim-hating blogs such as Pam Geller's Atlas Shrugged, Daniel Pipes, and Robert Spencer's Jihad Watch.  Despite that, The New York Times is still working hard to pin some form of blame, even ultimate blame, on Muslim radicals (h/t sysprog):

Terrorism specialists said that even if the authorities
ultimately ruled out Islamic terrorism as the cause of Friday’s
assaults, other kinds of groups or individuals were mimicking Al Qaeda's brutality and multiple attacks.

"If it does turn out to be someone with more political motivations, it shows these groups are learning from what they see from Al Qaeda," said Brian Fishman, a counterterrorism researcher at the New America Foundation in Washington.

Al Qaeda is always to blame, even when it isn't, even when it's
allegedly the work of a Nordic, Muslim-hating, right-wing European
nationalist.  Of course, before Al Qaeda, nobody ever thought to detonate bombs in government buildings or go on indiscriminate, politically motivated shooting rampages.  The NYT
speculates that amonium nitrate fertilizer may have been used to make
the bomb because the suspect, Anders Behring Breivik, owned a
farming-related business and thus could have access to that material; of
course nobody would have ever thought of using that substance to make a massive bomb had it not been for Al Qaeda.  So all this proves once again what a menacing threat radical Islam is.

Then there's this extraordinarily revealing passage from the NYT -- first noticed by Richard Silverstein -- explaining why the paper originally reported what it did:

Initial reports focused on the possibility of Islamic militants,
in particular Ansar al-Jihad al-Alami, or Helpers of the Global Jihad,
cited by some analysts as claiming responsibility for the attacks.
American officials said the group was previously unknown and might not
even exist.

There was ample reason for concern that terrorists might be responsible.

In other words, now that we know the alleged perpetrator is not Muslim, we know -- by definition
-- that Terrorists are not responsible; conversely, when we thought
Muslims were responsible, that meant -- also by definition -- that it
was an act of Terrorism.  As Silverstein put it:

How's that again? Are the only terrorists in the world Muslim? If
so, what do we call a right-wing nationalist capable of planting major
bombs and mowing down scores of people for the sake of the greater glory
of his cause? If even a liberal newspaper like the Times can't call
this guy a terrorist, what does that say about the mindset of the
western world?

What it says is what we've seen repeatedly: that Terrorism has no
objective meaning and, at least in American political discourse, has
come functionally to mean: violence committed by Muslims whom the West dislikes, no matter the cause or the target.  Indeed, in many (though not all) media circles, discussion of the Oslo attack quickly morphed from this is Terrorism (when it was believed Muslims did it) to no, this isn't Terrorism, just extremism (once it became likely that Muslims didn't).  As Maz Hussain -- whose lengthy Twitter commentary on this event yesterday was superb and well worth reading -- put it:

That Terrorism means nothing more than violence committed by Muslims whom the West dislikes
has been proven repeatedly.  When an airplane was flown into an
IRS building in Austin, Texas, it was immediately proclaimed to be
Terrorism, until it was revealed
that the attacker was a white, non-Muslim, American anti-tax advocate
with a series of domestic political grievances.  The U.S. and its allies
can, by definition, never commit Terrorism even when it is beyond question that the purpose of their violence is to terrorize civilian populations into submission.  Conversely, Muslims who attack purely military targets  -- even if the target is an invading army in their own countries -- are, by definition, Terrorists.  That is why, as NYU's Remi Brulin has extensively documented, Terrorism is the most meaningless, and therefore the most manipulated, word in the English language.  Yesterday provided yet another sterling example.

One last question: if, as preliminary evidence suggests,
it turns out that Breivik was "inspired" by the extremist hatemongering
rantings of Geller, Pipes and friends, will their groups be deemed
Terrorist organizations such that any involvement with them could
constitute the criminal offense of material support to Terrorism?  Will
those extremist polemicists inspiring Terrorist violence receive the
Anwar Awlaki treatment of being put on an assassination hit list without
due process?  Will tall, blond, Nordic-looking males now receive extra
scrutiny at airports and other locales, and will those having any
involvement with those right-wing, Muslim-hating groups be secretly
placed on no-fly lists?  Or are those oppressive, extremist, lawless
measures -- like the word Terrorism -- also reserved exclusively for
Muslims?

UPDATE:  The original version of the NYT article was even worse in this regard.  As several people noted, here is what the article originally said (papers that carry NYT articles still have the original version):

Terrorism specialists said that even if the authorities ultimately ruled out terrorism as the cause of Friday's assaults, other kinds of groups or individuals were mimicking al-Qaida's signature brutality and multiple attacks.

"If it does turn out to be someone with more political
motivations, it shows these groups are learning from what they see from
al-Qaida," said Brian Fishman, a counterterrorism researcher at the New
America Foundation in Washington.

Thus: if it turns out that the perpetrators weren't Muslim (but
rather "someone with more political motivations" -- whatever that means:
it presumably rests on the inane notion
that Islamic radicals are motivated by religion, not political
grievances), then it means that Terrorism, by definition, would be
"ruled out" (one might think that the more politically-motivated an act
of violence is, the more deserving it is of the Terrorism label, but this just proves that the defining feature of the word Terrorism is Muslim violence).  The final version of the NYT
article inserted the word "Islamic" before "terrorism" ("even if the
authorities ultimately ruled out Islamic terrorism as the cause"), but
-- as demonstrated above -- still preserved the necessary inference that
only Muslims can be Terrorists.  Meanwhile, in the world of reality, of
294 Terrorist attacks attempted or executed on European soil in 2009 as
counted by the EU, a grand total of one -- 1 out of 294 -- was perpetrated by "Islamists."

UPDATE II:  This article
expertly traces and sets forth exactly how the "Muslims-did-it" myth
was manufactured and then disseminated yesterday to the worldwide media,
which predictably repeated it with little skepticism.  What makes the
article so valuable is that it names names: it points to the incestuous,
self-regarding network of self-proclaimed U.S. Terrorism and foreign
policy "experts" -- what the article accurately describes as "almost
always white men and very often with military or government
backgrounds," in this instance driven by "a case of an elite fanboy
wanting to be the first to pass on leaked gadget specs" -- who so often
shape these media stories and are uncritically presented as experts,
even though they're drowning in bias, nationalism, ignorance, and
shallow credentialism.

Pamela Geller admits to Orwellian blog neatening...

I do give her some credit for admitting that she went into her archives and removed a line from this letter, written in 2007 by a Norwegian reader of her blog. She then reposted the unedited letter.

Well, yes, the situation is worsening. Stepping up from 29 000 immigrants every year, in 2007 we will be getting a total of 35 000 immigrants from somalia, iran, iraq and afghanistan. The nations capital is already 50% muslim, and they ALL go there after entering Norway. Adding the 1.2 births per woman per year from muslim women, there will be 300 000+ muslims out of the then 480 000 inhabitants of that city.

Orders from Libya and Iran say that Oslo will be known as Medina at the latest in 2010, although I consider this a PR-stunt nevertheless it is their plan.

From Israel the hordes clawing at the walls of Jerusalem proclaim cheerfully that next year there will be no more Israel, and I know Israel shrugs this off as do I, and will mount a strike during the summer against all of its enemies in the middle east. This will make the muslims worldwide go into a frenzy, attacking everyone around them.

We are stockpiling and caching weapons, ammunition and equipment. This is going to happen fast.

Before, I thought about emigrating to Britain, Israel, USA, South Africa, etc. for taxes and politics, but instead (although I believe we are the very last generation on earth before the return of God) I will stay and fight for the right to this country and indeed the entire peninsula, for the God-fearing people, just in case this isn't the end of the world after all. Doesn't hurt to have a backup plan.

It's far from impossible to achieve, after all my people has done it every time before, in feats that match the ancient greek, hebrew and british "legends".

Oslo and the southeast may fall easily, but there are other lines than "state"-borders drawn across this country since long before there was even a single muslim in the world, and we have held them this long, against everyone else too. We are entering a new golden age for my people, and those of a handful other countrys, but only through struggle.

Never fear, Pamela. God is with you too in this coming time.

Evidently some people on the interwebz are suggesting that the anonymous writer here is Breivik -- Geller denies it, and I doubt it. BTW, I am not linking to her repellent yet perversely entertaining site -- it's easy to find if you want.
