by "top rank" i thought you meant 1st goes to the biggest shill (cockburn?) and 10 to the least shilliest (Kucinich?) - but looking at the scores, maybe I had it backwards? Or maybe my opinions / knowledge of these fools are way off base...

Yes indeed, 1st goes to the shilliest. If it was 1 to 10 I would have thought maybe it could go either way, 10 having more "weight" than one. But since thy made it 1st, 2nd, etc. I figured first place was naturally for whoever won the shilliest...

pretty much in order of their out spoken aversion to the truth. So, yeah, I guess Kucinich would be last in my opinion.

of course 8 replies isn't much, but still it gives an idea of the
power of collective wisdom... we may not all be exactly right but i
think that after a bunch of people rank a list, the trend becomes
pretty undeniable...

BTW, I figured out what was wrong. I'm using firefox with a script blocker & have to disallow scripts for the message box to show when replying. Just figured you'd want to know in case anyone else has a problem replying.

nice avatar--I was once into chess-never got very good but I think it's great training for the braining...

As far as issues with scripts for the comments, I think that if you disable rich text you shouldn't have a problem--the rich text thing makes it possible to do better editing/formatting but if you don't care about that you should be able to disable it on your end...

shouldn't 1st go to the top gatekeeper? i've never seen a college football team ranked 10th that was thought to be superior (or in this case, more detestable) to the team ranked 1st. Tahooey's comment has me holding off on this one.

I tried to vote a few times, but I never saw the poll results, just a large white area. Didn't work on explorer or safari browsers.

For my money Kos is more Effective than all the others put together. I would bet that Kos has at least a thousand times more readers than Chomsky, Cockburn, and Taibbi put together. I have no idea how many listeners Air America has. If there is any listenership, then Goodman might be second most effective shill after Kos, based on coverage alone.

On TV, the comedians are good assets as they work at a subliminal level. Colmes has no effect at all, nobody cares what he says.

Do the poliiticians even belong on the list at all? It is assumed that politicians running for office are disguising their real views to appeal to the centre. The supporters of Kucinich and Paul ignore the pol's statements and choose to imagine whatever they wish about their candidate's true opinions. So is it really possible to shill effectively while running for office?

The blank space might have just been a hiccup.. With all the stuff I've added I think the site stutters when traffic is brisk.

Yeah I put the pols in there for some reason, and I do see them as actors just like the rest. Those two I think fit the gatekeeper description because they represent the fringe of the mainstream...

all content on this site is as free as you want it to be, unless the author of whatever it is specifies otehrwise... that's in the small print down at the bottom.  I would LOVE to get a regular 50 or so replies to this kind of poll on any number of subjects...  people should also feel free to make their own--just go to "create content" (you have to be registered tho)  I'm putting all these tools together because they're fun and I want people to have a good time truthing!
