Zeitgeist Refuted: A Critical Examination of the Distortions & Falsified History Presented in Zeitgeist, the Movie

Keenan's picture

Since the release of Zeitgeist by Peter Joseph (whose material regarding religious myths was largely inspired by Acharya S aka D.M. Murdock), there has been much controversy regarding the historical accuracy of the first part of the film - the section on the history of religion, The Greatest Story Ever Told. Many religious historians claim that the author engaged in historical fabrication in order to produce a piece of New Age propaganda.

Here is a rebuttal video in 12 parts by Elliot Nesch, who purports to set the record straight. Since I am not a religious historian myself, I cannot judge the accuracy of the historical interpretation, but it does seem to be a professionally made careful and critical rebuttal that seems worthy of examination, and if the authors of Zeitgeist are found to have engaged in fabrications or distortions of historical facts and scholarship, then I would think it important for the truth movement to be aware of this, if only because Zeitgeist has been one of the more high profile and heavily promoted "documentaries" of the truth movement in recent years.
