Helen Thomas: Tell Them to Get the Hell Out of Palestine
When asked by a reporter if she had any thoughts on Israel, she said "tell them to get the hell out of Palestine." Predictably, her use of "they" is translated by the reporter in a follow up question as "Jews" -- and she doesn't challenge the assumption... but that's kinda what you get when you persist in calling Israel the "Jewish State," n'est-ce pas? Moreover, she suggests that "they" (the Zionist colonials occupying Palestine?)return not only to Germany and Poland, but to the United States. (My own belief is that no one should have to leave a peaceful, unitary Palestinian state, and it is true as the caption of the video suggests that Jews have always lived in Palestine.)

I love Helen Thomas, may
I love Helen Thomas, may she live to be 120 . She is literally the only person I respect in the White House press corps. When everyone else was asking about the oil spill(an important but not exactly politically sensitive issue for a reporter to ask about) she was the only one to ask Obama about the Israelis murder spree when it first happened. She previously asked Obama about Israels nukes(when everyone else was asking about Irans alleged weapons) and the hypocrisy there.

The media is all over Helen for this. I saw a news crawl on ABC this morning saying she is "under fire" for her comments and people are caling for Hearst to fire her. Morning Joe was basically calling her an old racist coot and they had on Representative Anthony Weiner(Z) to scold her some more. THIS is what happens when you are the only repeorter willing to directly ask Obama about the slaughter in Afghanistan that he continues and when you are the only reporter to ask realistic questions about Israel. She is the last one in there worth a damn so they have to push her out.

Ari Fliescher is now out there saying Hearst should fire Helen Thomas and "Fox and Friends" made sure to point out that she is of Lebanese descent.

Helen grilled Bush over WMD's and hunt for OBL so bad his next press conference was scripted and he ran down list and called them by order.

Helen Thomas has just "retired". Now THAT was an effective witch hunt! Seriously though, this is a sad day, she is(was) literally the only person in that room with any kind of spine. The ladies on "The View" also scolded Helen, with Joy Behar saying "she needs to learn her history". Ironic. Some bobblehead from "Fox and Friends" was also on, giving her predictable 2 cents about how Helen should be fired. Given this example that was made out of a woman who served with distinction over decades, how likely is it that one of her spineless colleagues will ask any tough questions about Israel in the future?(or really anything having to do with war).
