TruthAction User Again Smearing Gretavo With False Accusations

gretavo's picture

It recently came to my attention that a user at the truthaction forum has posted screenshots purporting to be of comments written by me, including a particularly offensive phrase "you're all a bunch of paranoid faggots". About a year ago, my youtube account under the username gretavo was hacked and the hacker changed both the password and the registered email address so that I have lost any control over it, so that the user "gretavo" on youtube is no longer me, but someone who obviously wishes me ill.

As one can see on the account page at http://www.youtube.com/user/gretavo (screenshot for posterity: http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/4595/truthactionlibel.jpg ) the hacker has posted the same comment on several videos including my own. I tried in vain, when WTCD user Larry Horse alerted me to the strange comments, to contact YouTube to have them disable the account. An email to Google's security team also went unanswered. If anyone can figure out how one could go about disabling a hacked YouTube acocunt I'm all ears.

This is not in fact the first time that the same user at truthaction has posted false information about me at the truthaction forum--as in this case, she seems to be incapable of distinguishing things that are true from things that are posted to smear me. That or she understands full well what she is doing--knowing something about this user I tend to think it's a combination of a lack of intelligence and and a desire on her part to be seen as some kind of crusader against disinformation.

In any case, to quote the great Jon Gold, I guess I must be doing something right!

Sounds about right. Like the way she misuses quotes:

[Anonymous, I appreciate your effort to set the record straight with regard to truthaction's ill-considered use of quotes, but I think this is one of those cases where since the intent is obviously to bait us into an argument it is best to simply set the record straight, point out the untrue, defamatory things that are said, and leave it at that. I know quite a bit about the person primarily responsible for these smears and can say that she is in a very real sense a troubled individual, and I will leave it at that because there is no point in aggravating such people's problems. It is clear at this point that truthaction is merely a vehicle for fake truthers to work together to give the appearance of consensus on a number of points as a means of preventing the whole truth about 9/11 from being exposed. The fact that they are sinking to new lows is actually a very good sign--it means someone is worried enough to want to disrupt us, the real truthers. I would ask that people not use the WTCD forum to respond to junk posted at truthaction as it is simply not worth our time or bandwidth. Thanks! -gReT]

youtube account

Hi Gretavo!  Glad to see the site is back online today!

I just saw this & hope you won't mind that I've taken the liberty to contact someone I know at youtube to request that they disable your account.  He said he'd get it to the right person, so someone might contact you at the Email you provided to youtube, to verify the situation.  And if so, now you'll know why.

cheers!

hi Tahooey

Thanks, but one of the problems is that the hacker changed the email address of record--otherwise i could have a new password emailed to me automatically.

I see

I see; I wonder if they keep records of the original Email address used during signup.  Well I'll bug him again tomorrow to see what he says; maybe they'll just disable it based on the comments that've been posted from it.

hey Gretavo -

Hello anonymous! The email address you provided has apparently been shut down, which makes sense since they now (finally) have a webform for reporting hijacked accounts. So I submitted the request for return or deactivation of my account through that a few days ago and have heard nothing since...
