i am so upset...

my sister's only son, my nephew marine officer is being called up to go serve with McChrystal, Aghansitan

back to Afghansitan...3rd tour

wife and 2 young sons will be left behind.

seems he got the call last night, this happened overnight, right after the vote.  

damn the goddamn dems and all who voted for the Afghanistan escalation.

He and I are close; and for his family, it will mean that military hardhsip, again, again.

he is a diplomat marine, for what it's worth, a leader of men. kind to all. is there hope?

i hate israel.

i am a mess

I am sorry they are sending him back to Afghanistan. I wish the truth movement could do more for conscientious objectors.

He will in all probability come back ok. One of the hardest and most importnat things we can do is to channel our frustration and anger into constructive action--keep in mind the ultimate goal, which is that no one should again be put in your nephew's position, and understand his sacrifice and its power to motivate you as an essential part of this struggle that we WILL win. We SHALL overcome--it's that simple Kate. There is no alternative.
