Here We Go Again...

Who knows what the real story here is--I don't doubt for a second that this may well have some elements of psy-op behind it, bt even if we're just talking about a guy who became unhinged after hearing others'many horror stories from the front lines, what is important is the way it is already and so predictably being spun. I personally take it as more confirmation that the real criminals are feeling the heat...
Instead of harping about irrelevant tropes like conservatives vs. liberals; how Christian, atheists, Buddhists, et al. do bad things too; Tim McVey, Columbine, etc., that are factually and motivationally different than the situation we have here; abortion and gun control (ironically, the Army has more gun control than civilian Texas), let's get some facts straight:
(1) I'm sorry to say this, but you do not need to be a rabid right-winger (I'm a racial minority American living in Europe ... that should tell you that I'm not in cahoots with Rush or glued to Fox News) to realize that what happened was about Islam.
When someone shouts out "Allahu Akbar!" before shooting his fellow soldiers and civilians .... when NPR -- which no rational person will mistake for being a part of the 'vast right-wing conspiracy' -- reports that Maj. Hasan gave a talk at a lecture series among Army psychiatrists about the Koran in relation to how jihadists can effectively kill infidels, which disturbed other Muslims in attendance .... when the imam of a Silver Springs mosque reported that Maj. Hasan would regularly ask to find suitable women who prayed 5 times a day and wear the hijab ... when the New York Times has excerpts from webposting probably by Maj. Nidal Hasan (considering the amount of psycho-babble in that posting, it probably was by him) praising jihadist martyrs and favorably comparing Muslim suicide bombers who are intent on killing as many others as possible with American soldiers who fall on grenades with the intent of saving the lives of others .... You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to come to the conclusion that Maj. Hasan was motivated by Islam.
To deny what is so obviously true would do everybody, including Muslims, a dis-service and is an insult to human reason.
(2) Some of the other commenters here have said that the Army should have been "flexible" (a Mr. Ali if I recall correctly) about letting Dr. Maj. Hasan, MD out of the military or other things to that effect. Look, the US Army is an all-volunteer organisation where recruits have to make a binding commitment. They paid for Dr. Maj. Hasan's expensive medical education (as well as undergrad education).
Maj. Hasan did not join the Boy Scouts nor did he join Blue Cross. He joined the Army. He should have done his duty rather than shoot people that did him no harm.
(3) This clearly isn't about PTSD nor is it about fragging. He hadn't ever been deployed. Even if he had, he would have been behind the wire and not likely to be exposed to IEDs or insurgents.
At any rate, if Maj. Hasan was sincerely anxious about avoiding bloodshed, why did he come armed with enough ammo to take out an Army platoon and kill fellow soldiers and civilians who did him no harm?
See (1) for the real reason.
(4) Maj. Hasan's acts were clearly premeditated. He had to circumvent security procedues at Fort Hood to bring the weapons and ammunition. He carried enough ammo to do grievous harm to scores of soldiers and civilians. As recounted in (1) and elsewhere, Maj. Hasan had motives and expressed them that had nothing to do with being nervous about deployment or unhappiness with the Army.
Finally, beyond the tragic irony of a psychiatrist going on a shooting rampage, the fact that Maj. Hasan is a psychiatrist also favors the conclusion that this was a premeditated act of terror or murder or whatever you want to call it. His training must have given him enough introspection to insure that his acts were deliberated and deliberate.

an anti Muslim psyop now linked to 9-11 via hijackers

Fort Hood Shooter 9/11 Hijackers Attended Same Mosque
Calendar November 7, 2009 | Posted by Shannon Bell
Let’s not jump to any conclusions but it’s been learned by the Daily Telegraph that the Fort Hood shooter, Nadal Malik Hasan, attended the same mosque as two of the September 11 attackers in 2001. Hasan sat under the teachings of Anwar al-Awlaki, a “controversial” Imam who was banned from giving a lecture in London because of accusations of supporting attacks on British troops and supporting terrorist organizations.
Two of the 9/11 hijackers attended the mosque in about March of 2001; Nadal Malik Hasan attended the same mosque about the same time. Hopefully this will be a central focus of this case as more information comes to light.
The Telegraph has an account from a former Muslim associate of Hasan’s, a fellow officer that is a Muslim as well. In this account he uses the alias Richard:
But Richard had previously argued with Hasan when he said that he felt the “war on terror” was really a war against Islam, expressed anti-Jewish sentiments and defended suicide bombings.
“I asked Richard whether he believed that Hasan was motivated by religious radicalism in his murderous actions,” Mr Pasha said.
“Richard, with great sadness, said that he believed this was true. He also believed that psychological factors from Hasan’s job as an army psychiatrist added to his pathos. The news that he would be deployed overseas, to a war that he rejected, may have pushed him over the edge.
Hasan was on the radar for alleged postings on radical Islamic websites; but the question should be asked, why was he promoted through the ranks if he was under scrutiny? Why did the military not act sooner? How long were they going to let him go on with his strange behavior?
The political correctness needs to end. It’s not jumping to conclusions if common sense and the evidence adds up. Nadal Malik Hasan didn’t suffer from PTSD; he ascribed to a radical brand of Islam that is responsible for countless lives being lost.

Fort Hood gunman linked to mosque attended by 9/11 bombers
Imam Anwar al-Awlaki
US authorities are investigating reports that Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood attacker, attended a mosque in Falls Church, Virginia, that was also frequented by two of the Islamic terrorists involved in the September 11 attacks in 2001.
Funeral services for Hasan’s mother, Hanan, were held at the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church in 2001. In April of that year Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Midhar, later identified as being among the 9/11 hijackers, paid several visits to the mosque, the largest in the vicinity of Washington DC. The two Saudi Arabians were on the American Airlines flight that crashed into the Pentagon.
The Virginia mosque’s imam at the time was Anwar al-Aulaqi, a Muslim radical who saw Islam and America as enemies. Hasan is thought to have attended at least one of Aulaqi’s lectures before the imam left for his native Yemen.
