WATCH THE TRAILER!!

"....it softens the steel. it bends to one side. and of course there is a vertical load on it, that takes care of everything. so it goes away, and that's what happened..."

do you believe this bullshit!?

thanks kate

I updated the links to go to the show's main page and the video trailer. It's so bad. Sozen outright lies and says the columns in the impact zone had no insulation, then the narrator simply asserts that the simulation validated NIST's conclusion, which of course it doesn't. But NIST's conclusion also doesn't even claim to explain the total failure of the structure, just the "collapse initiation"--and neither does Purdue's simulation. Just BS designed to reassure those who want to believe the OCT and will not think critically.

and thank you, G

for the linkage upgrades.

you know, does the computer simulation even display the 47 support columns? i think not. how convenient to leave them out.

Yes...

Those 47 core columns (what you call the "support" columns) are what is pictured in the video.

However, there are so many problems with what the man is saying, it's amazing that they put this on the air. It's also amazing that they chose that piece for their trailer.

He says that the steel "could" have been heated to over 1200 f... "could"... yet the NIST report clearly shows that in the tests they ran on recovered steel columns and beams, none of the samples they took were heated over 600 f.

He talks about all the fuel burning and "softening" the steel because the fuel burned at such a high temp...

... but he doesn't talk about the fact that for steel to lose that 50% of it's structural integrity, the "core" of the steel (the inside or middle of the piece of steel itself) has to reach that temp. not the outside and certainly not when it is just flashed over with a fireball for about 2 to 3 seconds.

He inexplicably then jumps to some conclusion that the connections between the columns and the beams failed leaving the columns exposed to "bend" due to their "softening"... that of course is just pure conjecture, again, not even supported by the NIST report.
