Towards a (capital C capital T) Conspiracy Theory
There is Quantum Theory, Queer Theory, and apparently now something called Ponerological Theory.
It would seem to serve the study of criminality, "criminology" to develop a theory of conspiracy.
SO... how to go about establishing Conspiracy Theory as a legitimate and respect area of study?
I would start by saying that we need to define terms, develop and test hypotheses, and all that good empirical stuff.

could also call it Cheat Theory
The study of cheating. Look at those carnival games that are rigged for people to lose, like the knock over the bottles with the ball game, or ring toss... Tehre are ways that these games are set up to make them appear deceptively simple to win in order to get people to play and lose their money. Look at the stock market, or even the monetary system, and see the same rigged game being played. Try telling people they are being cheated and they will suspect of you of wanting to deny them the rewards that they hope to get. The perps of these scams have to make sure that people SOMETIMES can win and rig it so that is the case, giving dupes false hop that they too can be among the winners.
