The "Kooky Konspiracy Kanard" as Unsolicited Alibi

If you want to keep people from talking about something, it helps to make it sound like something they would find distasteful, not simply uninteresting. By claiming that the "first conspiracy theory about 9/11" held that Jews didn't show up to work at the WTC that day because they had been warned, the mainstream media have always served coincidentally or otherwise to support the public's notion that not accepting the official explanation amounts to suspecting that "the Jews must have done it."
It is important to note that the "first conspiracy theory" did not claim that the state of Israel was responsible--the myth was promoted as "da JOOZ did it!" While many people no doubt believed it possible that Israel's clandestine services had been involved covertly this inclination need not have been a result of real Jew hatred (whatever form that may take) given Israel's history of using similar tactics, most notably in the so-called Lavon Affair. To this day, though, there exist more than a few people who upon learning someone is a truther say something like "Oh, so who do you think did it--da Jooz?" in a tone that leaves little doubt that they expect it to be so.
"Da jooz done it!" being anointed the "first conspiracy theory" by the mainstream media others soon followed. The claim that a missile was fired at the Pentagon (as opposed to what would have been better said "what exactly hit the Pentagon and why?") is a candidate for the "second conspiracy theory". The kooky konspiracy theory to round out the trinity has to be without question the so-called theory that no planes hit the twin towers--that they were holograms seen by the public and digital images embedded into video feeds (as opposed to "why did those towers look like they were demolished with explosives?")
So to recap:
KOOKY KONSPIRACY KANARD | ***** | REAL QUESTION MEANT TO DISTRACT FROM |
da jooz done it! | ***** | was the state of Israel involved? |
a missile hit the Pentagon! | ***** | what hit the Pentagon and how/why? |
no planes hit the towers! | ***** | why did the towers collapse? |
I consider space beams and mini nukes to be latter-day canards. These seem to be the first three, and in the order that they appeared. These three are the triptych of distaste behind which the truth about 9/11 is jealously guarded. This then becomes people's alibi for not paying attention to the increasingly concerned fellow citizens who try to inform them. Plausible deniability is also made possible for those who do learn the truth but choose not to admit it.
