"...before the "intervention" in Dallas"?
A slip? He nose something. This is probably how McInsain refers to the event when amongst fellow spawns of Satan.

Jesus H Christ, that was revealing!

I noticed that moment last night
and at the time thought he was just speaking clumsily or mis-speaking -- meaning something like "except for the intervening tragedy in Dallas." But it seems pretty weird -- he clearly says "intervention" and then when he amends it with "the tragedy in Dallas" he's doing this weird thing, touching his nose. If I were a nutty conspiracy theorist, I might think he was "saying something."
doesn't sound weird to me
"before the intervention of the tragedy in Dallas."
I mean, we could speculate about his motivation in bringing up Kennedy/Goldwater in the first place but I don't see much "there" here...
There's no "of"
He says, "Before the intervention -- the tragedy in Dallas." So yes, I agree that what there there is there is something small, but amplified in weirdness by his nose-wiping gesture.
I think the question is whether he brought up that tidbit of electoral/political history IN ORDER to bring up the "intervention in Dallas."
I'm reading Robert Anton Wilson's Illuminatus! trilogy right now, so cut me some slack.
i think he pronounces it "uh"
it's like Bush saying "I saw a plane hit the tower" when he means "I saw a plane (had) hit the tower". So did McCain say Wurzelburger instead of Wurtzelbacher in reference to Joe the plumber because he was confused or for plausible deniability when people accuse his campaign of staging the whole Joe the Plumber episode?
But I agree of course that the "real 9/11 conspiracy narrativeâ„¢" is much embellished by the idea that McCain is somehow issuing a veiled warning to Obama or to America. If god forbid anything should happen or be convincingly made to appear to happen to a hypothetical president Obama there would inevitably be a comaprison made to the assassination of JFK, another young president who had "made America 'believe' and 'hope' again, tragically cut down in the prime of his life before being able to deliver on all of his promises, but paving the way for their fulfillment by a grief-stricken nation's new leaders." etc.
Read as threat, in other words, it seems to support a certain narrative--but does that narrative have anything to do with reality or is it just a good story? This is where a lot of the "conspiracy theorist" criticism comes from and I don't know that it would all be invalid. That you ask me to cut you slack because you are indeed reading about the Illuminati tells me that you realize this tendency and its pitfalls and so consider slack as having been duly cut to you.
I think the truth could just be that McCain wanted to assure people that he too "honors and mourns the fallen JFK" which sounds like boilerplate political PR to me but who knows.
Yes and moreover
The Illuminatus! books are novels based on a trickstericious cramming together of ALL conspiracy theories -- in other words, a mindfuck of the pleasurable variety.
ah
mindfucks as opposed to mindrapes or mindmolesting?
"... . ... ....... .. ..... . .. . . . . ... . !!"
".... .. .. ... ... .. .. . .. .. . . . . . . ... .... ... ..... .... . . . ...... . . . . . .. . . . .. "
Mime 11, you need to chillax.
It's MIND-fucking/raping/molesting, not MIME-fucking/raping/molesting.
now I think you're right
he did say "intervention OF THE tragedy". When I heard it first it sounded like "intervention --er-- tragedy"; and, to me, the nose-touching says non-verbally I am lying!

Oh okay...
You're right that just as he touches his nose, there's a little sound that might be "of" -- the "intervention-o-the tragedy" blah blah.
I'm of a mind he's a ...
... lying sack 'o dog excrement and he nose more about Kennedy's assassination, an intervention conducted by cabal of which McInsain is a member. Whatever, it's impossible for McInsain to make himself any more reviled.

3 The Mouth Covering Giveaway
When a person is lying, he or she will normally cover the mouth with the hand. This gesture is actually triggered by the subconscious mind instructing itself to suppress the deceitful and untruthful words that are being said. There will be times when a closed fist or only several fingers that are placed over the mouth, but its meaning remains very much the same.
4 The Nose Touching Giveaway
As the nose is very close to the mouth, rubbing, stroking or scratching of that area is also a common gesture performed by someone who is not telling the truth. Though occasionally there are times when it might just be an actual physical itch at the area that needs to be satisfied by scratching or rubbing.
However, there is a slight difference between a genuine scratching to relieve an itch and a doubtful nose rubbing. A real and actual itching feeling will result in a more obvious rubbing motion, while the self-doubting or deceitful rub will normally be just a light touch or stroke.
Similar to the mouth covering gesture, it can both be used by a person who is trying to conceal his or her own deception, and a person who is suspicious of what is being said by the other party.

this is obviously made by some bizarre anti-Nazi right wing Obama hater but I do have a problem with the level of hero worship dear leaderness involved here...
