Global Warmingâ„¢ - Hoax or Hot Potato?

It's a hoax insofar as global warming does occur, but it's not likely the grave threat it's being painted as -- just like terr'ism. We know the sun's output fluctuates, and we know atmospheric CO2 has climbed way above pre-industrialization levels. We know CO2 is a greenhouse gas, but we can not reliably tell its overall weight in the highly complex concoction that is our atmosphere. Furthermore, we know temperatures on earth have never been stable, and have been significantly higher than nowadays in the not too distant past -- life didn't go extinct then, it probably won't now.

30 years ago, the coming ice age was supposedly damocles' sword.

All predictions for climatic armageddon come out of necessarily inaccurate computer models, competing for funds -- sensationalism attracts funds, and scientists are not immune from orthodoxy. They tell us conditions for collapse initiation will set in by 2012, after which global collapse will inevitably ensue -- unless we all submit to a global authority to save us.

Don't fall for it.
