Gee, would it have cost them that much to throw in the last 7 seconds of the simulation?

Even over the sounds of the exploding south tower and north tower? Even with thermite or an analogous incendiary used to thin the columns? Misdirection at work. Remember the timing of the explosions was crucial to their concealment. We have direct visual evidence, for instance, of an explosion in the north tower as the south tower is struck by a plane. We have William Rodriguez's testimony to the explosion in the north tower basement occuring nearly simulatneously with the north tower being struck.
