How did we miss this issue of Elevator World??

http://911research.wtc7.net/cache/wtc/arch/wtc_elevator_renovation.pdf

So it looks like Ace Elevator completed its work in March 2001. It seems unlikely that they would have been involved in the demolition prep. What seems more likely is that once Silverstein took over some friends of his were given access to those nifty new elevators that just happened to adjoin every one of the 47 core columns. Taking a ride with a spray mechanism filled with red/gray nano thermite compound would have made the job go pretty swiftly--as in under 6 weeks...

Too wrapped up with this one?

Police free 26 cheerleaders from elevator at University of Texas' Jester Hall

How long would it take for twenty six cheerleaders to do it?

Slideshow images

I figured out how to batch download the indovidual slideshow images for both the low and high resolution formats. If anyone is interested in having a local copy, say so and I will post instructions on how it can be easily done with a Windoze machine.

I can also provide instructions to make a standalone .EXE or .SCR slideshow that you can have on a laptop for portability, burn to CD for sharing, etc. One could also create an edited short version slideshow to show folks with an attention span too short for the full set.

cool, do share!

yeah it is loooong (over 500 slides) but it is also great to have running on a laptop--an abbreviated version would be great...

How to download files (slides) automatically

How to download files automatically:

OK, here's the method I used,

Please know that no FRNs need be wasted to do this! I love freeware and open source software!

First, you'll need to download and install the Orbit Downloader.

I give a few suggestions for the installation options below.

Orbit Downloader, leader of download manager revolution, is devoted to new generation web (web2.0) downloading, such as video/music/streaming media from Myspace, YouTube, Imeem, Pandora, Rapidshare, support RTMP. And to make general downloading easier and faster.
Current version : 2.7.3 No adware! No spyware!

It supports Internet Explorer 5.0 and above, FireFox 1.5 and above [includeFireFox3(Gran Paradiso)], Opera, Maxthon and Netscape.

Orbit is a download manager and download accelerator. Orbit also contains a nifty little proggie called Grab++ that will facilitate the grabbing of flash videos. It will interface with your browser, intercept, and manage your downloads. It is very configurable as to the filetypes that it will or will not intercept. If you cancel an Orbit intercept, you will then be presented with your normal browser downlog dialog window.

The major benefit to using Orbit (or some other DM) is that it can often resume failed downloads of large files (failing downloads is considered a feature of IE, no?). I use it to download CD/DVD ISO images (700mb - 4.2gb) of Linux distros to easily burn to disk later.

http://www.orbitdownloader.com/

Skim the home page and read through the Features page to get a good overview of the program.

http://www.orbitdownloader.com/download.htm

Installation of Orbit Downloader:

Exit your browsers (IE, Firefox) and run the orbitsetup.exe file.

Uncheck "View changelog". Leave and "Learn how to use Grab Pro..." (optional - it will create another toolbar in IE.) and "Run Orbit" checked and click Finish.

Orbit will run in the system tray with a very recognizable icon. Click to open.

Go to Tools, Preferences. Location and set you default download path to whatever folder suits you (ie \My Documents\Orbits.

I don't use the Accelerate option (P2P assisted downloading akin to torrents) because I initially saw it as somewhat of a security issue and don't see any benefit of it accelerating the files for which I use Orbit to download. Your choice.

Close Preferences.

To download the AE911 slideshow:

Open Orbit
Click File, Create Batch Download.

This opens Orbit's Batch Download dialog box to set your download parameters.

for lowrez images -

Copy/Paste the following URL into the URL field -

http://www.ae911truth.net/ppt_web/slides/jpg_672x504/Slide1.PNG.jpg

This is the URL for the lowrez image for the first slide.

We need to edit the URL so that it contains a string of characters representing a 'wildcard' within the URL. Simply edit the URL by removing the "1" and replacing with "(*)" to look like the following -

http://www.ae911truth.net/ppt_web/slides/jpg_672x504/Slide(*).PNG.jpg

The wildcard portion of the URL, (*), is that part we want Orbit to automatically increment when it creates each successive URL to download.

Then, put a '1' (number only) in the From box and '583' in the To box to define the range of the wildcard. Leave the length of the wildcard 1 as it will automatically increment through the series.

The box below should tell you that 583 files are set to download.

Choose an appropriate folder for the download. Use whatever folder for default that you prefer. For example, my default download folder is:

C:\Downloads\Temp\

If you just add a folder name to the default path, Orbit will create the new folder automagically and place all files there:

C:\Downloads\Temp\AE911slideshow\lowrez

This is very helpful in organizing your files as downloads accumulate among previous downloads.

Click OK and your downloads begin. By default, Orbit should begin downloading several files simultaneously. You can change this and many other settings (including scheduling for whilst you sleep) in Preferences to suit your bandwidth limitations.

The lowrez images shouldn't take very long to download. They seem to average aroud 60kb each. For highrez images (better if you want to create a slideshow for projecting onto a screen), simply change the following URL in the Orbit batch Download dialog box:

http://www.ae911truth.net/ppt_web/slides/jpg_960x720/Slide1.PNG.jpg

http://www.ae911truth.net/ppt_web/slides/jpg_960x720/Slide(*).PNG.jpg

NOTE: Download these to a separate folder, ie:

C:\Downloads\Temp\AE911slideshow\highrez

The highrez images will possibly take twice as log because they are nearly double in file size, though they are JPGs.

CAVEAT EMPTOR:

Whoever created the slides failed to name them properly. So, I suggest that you rename them using the following convention because it will make everything you do with them later, especially creating your own slideshows, soooooooooo much easier.

Rename you files using three characters for the incrementing number so that they look like these:

http://www.ae911truth.net/ppt_web/slides/jpg_672x504/Slide001.PNG.jpg

http://www.ae911truth.net/ppt_web/slides/jpg_672x504/Slide067.PNG.jpg

http://www.ae911truth.net/ppt_web/slides/jpg_672x504/Slide321.PNG.jpg

etc.

NOTE:
You should have your files incrementally named so that they appear in the proper order in the containing folder. If you don't want to do the tedious renaming manually, get a file renamer here (six duckies is highest rated):

How to make a slideshow with Irfanview

How to make a slideshow with Irfanview

What is IrfanView?

Without a doubt, the finest graphics viewer available. And it's free.

IrfanView is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE (for non-commercial use) graphic viewer for Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista.
more here:
http://www.irfanview.com/main_what_is_engl.htm

Download Irfanview here:

http://www.irfanview.com

http://www.irfanview.com/main_download_engl.htm

I highly reccomend also installing the plugins:

http://www.irfanview.com/plugins.htm

Install Irfanview. Optionally, close Irfanview and install the plugins. The plugins installer will automatically find the Irfanview install folder.

Run Irfanview

Click File, Slideshow to open the Slideshow dialog box and set your parameters.

NOTE:
You should have you files incrementally named so that they apear in the proper order during the show. If you don't want to do the tedious renaming manually or tedious sorting while making a slideshow, get a file batch renamer here (no particular reccomendations, six duckies is highest rated):

http://www.nonags.com/nonags/fileren.html

Open the folder containing your files.

If your files are properly named and you want to use all of the files in the folder, click the 'Add All' button. You can always add/delete files from the slideshow list later.

Your slideshow can run automatically with a predefined time for each slide or require input to advance or go back. Your choice depending on your objectives.

You can preview the slideshow with the Play button. If you chose the FullScreen option, hitting Escape will exit the slideshow at any time.

To create a single file Windows executable or screensaver, click the Save slideshow as EXE/SCR button, fill in the blanks and your done.

Burning a slideshow to CD that includes Irfanview or as a VCD is possible and has further requirements for software, part of which are met with the plugins package. I haven't used this feature so, I can't be of much help here.

i'll try not to get in the

i'll try not to get in the habit of posting this morons musings too much, but this is just too ridiculous not to post:

Jon Gold-"Was it Muslims that attacked us, or criminals who happened to be Muslims? Was it America that helped to attack itself, or criminals that happened to be Americans?

People that say it was a "Neocon crime, a Zionist crime, etc..." are not doing ANYTHING different than what those who started the "War On Terror" against the Muslim people.

They said it was the Muslim people that attacked us, so we went to war against the Muslims. The people that promote 9/11 as a "Zionist crime...", etc... do they want us to go to war with Israel to kill all of the Zionists?

I think those responsible for the 9/11 attacks should be held accountable for what they've done. I don't think all of their families, their countries, or their religions should be blamed for the attacks.

Edit: I spoke to Dr. Griffin, and he clarified his stance...

I've never said Muslims were not involved.

My present article/lecture, in fact, is called: Was America Attacked by Muslims on 9/11?"

http://www.911blogger.com/node/17115#comment

yeah Jon, you KNOW that muslims did it. Griffin obviously isnt as sure as you are about that. but you're against the Iraq war right? so that makes it all better........

casseia's picture

Again, it's "box of rocks" versus "sly as a fox"

I'm not even sure where to start with this.

Interpretation based on "box of rocks" premise: "Zionist" and "Muslim" as terms to describe identity are completely apple and orange here. What he should really be setting up in opposition are "Jew and Muslim" and "Zionist and Islamofascist (sic)". The fact is, we are at war with a large chunk of the world under the guise of fighting Islamofascists... which don't exactly exist... so we'll settle for fighting Muslims, especially if they are Muslims with nationalist aspirations.

"Sly as a fox" interpretation: Of course they are apple and orange. How better to implicitly reiterate the Zionist/Jew conflation? Are you saying we should go to war with Israel to kill all the Jews?

If Gold really found irrelevant the (purported) religious identity of the alleged hijackers, then why would he even ASK Dr. Griffin about this? Obviously, it is imperative, in his mind, to maintain the Islamophobic core of the 9/11 myth.

damn! that's the day i am supposed to leave Toronto. DRG will be speaking a block from where i'm staying. Frown

gretavo's picture

oh, and in an ideal world...

...Israel would cooperate fully with a hard core investigation, including extraditing anyone involved. Otherwise they will be harboring terrorists. Then watch every neocon turn into a peace-loving hippie saying "war is not the answer!!" With which sentiment I will of course agree but by the standards which most people in the world seem to have embraced when muslims were the culprits it wouldn't look too god for Israel--regime change would be in order.

I wonder what Jon Gold suggests America do if it tunred out that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan had actually been behind 9/11 and they refused to hand over the perps. Ask them nicely?
