Real Truther vs. The Larouche Youth - Round 2

Every now and then a gaggle of Larouchebags descends on Harvard Square in search of converts to Larouchism. As I wrapped up a three hour session of sign holding/pamphleteering (an occasional after-work pastime) I noticed the Larouche kids setting up shop across the street and decided to check in with them.

For those who don't know, Lyndon Larouche is a self-styled New Deal democrat who has been ostracized from his own party for some time now, and also spent some time in the pokey (jail) for alleged fraud or embezzlement or something. He and his supporters claim he was framed for political reasons and frankly he may well be telling the truth for all I know. In any case suffice it to say that his organization is a little creepy, very international and multicultural, reportedly coercive with its members and well, you know, a bit cultish.

The Larouche shtick, which all Larouchies are in some stage or another of perfecting the spiel for, goes something like this...

The world is ruled by the British through the Anglo-American and Anglo-Dutch banking mafia. Dick Cheney is their agent in America, and the spawn of Satan (almost literally the title of one of their screeds.) Larouche pines for the days of the Bretton Woods system, whereby the US and its European friends decided after WW2 to agree to establish monetary systems based on fixed exchange rates pegged to the value of gold in order to prevent another Great Depression. They also created the IMF at the time.

Larouche bemoans the abandonment of the gold standard by the US in the 1970s and argues that Cheney and his ilk have, through their voodoo economic manipulations including the rise of hedge funds and secret offshore banking practices established an empire of illicit arms trading and war profiteering while eroding America's manufacturing base. He advocates protectionism as well as global public works projects especially train systems as an alternative to the war and finance scheme based system promoted by Cheney and his Anglo banker types, including the British royals.

Larouchies dance around the issue of 9/11, claiming that Larouche (like Alex Jones!) predicted before 9/11 that Cheney and Co. were planning a Reichstag type event. They seem to accept that it was the work of al Qaeda, which of course is controlled and funded by the Anglo banking cartel.

What I found interesting about my visit with them today was the story they are currently pushing, which is the revelation that BAE, the British arms exporter, apparently has for some years now been providing fighter planes and other weapons to Saudi Arabia in exchange for 600,000 barrels of oil a day for the last I don't know how many years (for a total of $160 billion) in a secret deal arranged with the help of Prince Bandar (good friend of the Bush family and apparently a British intelligence asset) for which he was personally bribed $2 billion. The money raised from the sale of this oil is off the books and used, apparently, to fund terrorism and a global gun-running network.

Some of you probably already can guess where I'm going with this... Larouche is basically the more intellectual equivalent of Alex Jones. They in fact pretty much blame the same people, though Larouche does not refer to the New World Order as such and while a protectionist he is also much less anti-globalization than AJ. Like AJ, his folks downplay the importance of Israel and Zionism, preferring to name the Anglos as the world's bad guys' leaders with their Dutch and American banking network as their lever of power.

For example:

Council is to be viewed against that historical backdrop.

betrayed? We are betrayed by those, such as Rohatyn’s
Synarchist financier cronies, who hate the United
States, and especially its Constitutional tradition so
much, that they would rather destroy the planet than
live on a planet governed by the tradition of 1776.
There is a realm, like that of Adolf Hitler, so evil that it
lies in a domain far, far beyond mere treason. That is
where the international cronies of Rohatyn and the
Synarchists’ Bilderberger cronies of radical Anglo-
Dutch Liberalism lie today.

What Larouche fails to address to any extent is the role of Zionism in all of this, much as Alex Jones downplays the importance of Israel.

After some conversation and verbal jousting, I noticed one Larouchie talking to an Arab couple wit their baby in a stroller. The Larouchie was explaining how Cheney is the root of all evil and they seemed a bit skeptical, especially about Bandar's role in all of this. To the Larouchie's chagrin I joine the conversation and gave the couple my 9/11 flyer, which they seemed much happier about. Why, they asked the Larouchie, do you fixate on Cheney instead of looking at the bigger picture--the other people around him?

Sensing an opening, I brought up the neocons and their Israel-first policies. Cautious at first, they revealed themselves to be very much aware of issues like building 7 and the dancing Israelis. I asked, and they acknowledged, that they felt they couldn't really talk about these things, and I said I sympathized but that they really should feel more comfortable because more people than they think agree with them. I warned them about the Larouchies and their fixation on Cheney and the Saudis because as I explained, the true perpetrators knew the jig was going to be up soon and were looking to shift the blame to Bush, Cheney, Pakistan, and the Saudis. Mind you, these folks looked pretty well off and may well have been Saudi, though I didn't ask. They were primarily concerned about the deaths of so many innocent Arabs and Muslims in the middle east, which the Larouchie didn't seem very sympathetic to, preferring to lecture them on the need to expose Cheney and his coziness with the Anglo-Dutch banking empire and Prince Bandar.

And so the plot continues to thicken as things start to become just a bit clearer with regard to the Zionists tactics at confusing the issues, muddying the waters, and even exposing some of their erstwhile allies'(Cheney's) corruption to deal with the gathering truth storm.
