crackers

Now SnowCrash says:

"I could blame Wikileaks for leaking/hosting the Climategate e-mails (which appeared in multiple places on the web simultaneously)."

They didn't appear in multiple places simultaneously. Apparently they were *initially* uploaded to GW blog Real Climate. After being quickly deleted from there they were uploaded to the Russian server, and later to Climate Audit. Many people downloaded the files from one of these locations and began reposting the files on blogs etc. Did all those blogs 'leak' or 'host' the files? WL obviously downloaded a copy onto their server at some point, but so what?

As far as I'm concerned Leaking != Hosting

And besides the emails, which are more susceptible to semantic tomfoolery, there was plenty of code too e.g.

;
; Apply a VERY ARTIFICAL correction for decline!!
;
yrloc=[1400,findgen(19)*5.+1904]
valadj=[0.,0.,0.,0.,0.,-0.1,-0.25,-0.3,0.,-0.1,0.3,0.8,1.2,1.7,2.5,2.6,2.6,2.6,2.6,2.6]*0.75
; fudge factor
if n_elements(yrloc) ne n_elements(valadj) then message,'Oooops!'
yearlyadj=interpol(valadj,yrloc,timey)

Maybe mr l33t hacky hacker thinks this code looks ok?

I'll shut up about this now.
