Global Protest Against the War, March 2008

You might be aware already that all over the world there are plans and
preparations for α Global Protest Against the War on the fifth
anniversary of the Iraq invasion. It will comprise of many hundreds of co-ordinated local events that will take place between March 15 and 22, 2008.

Many global alliances and associations have endorsed this event.

The WORLD AGAINST WAR CONFERENCE took place on Saturday 1 December 2007
in London. There was a unanimous commitment by all participants from 26
countries including Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Iran, Iraq,
Ireland, Italy, Lebanon, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Palestine,
Poland, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United States and the
United Kingdom, to organise worldwide demonstrations between 15-22
March 2008 on the fifth anniversary of the Iraq invasion.

9/11 Truth activists have been visible participants in the
annual events leading up to this fifth anniversary. In some cases -
very few, but notable - 9/11 Truthers have even played key roles among
the main organizers. We need to improve on this.

Whatever the meaning of 9/11 Truth is - within the US in particular -
it amounts to nothing if it does not lead directly to an involvement
with the anti-war movement and with the broader Peace and Justice
Movement.

Some people within the 9/11 Truth community take the meaning of Truth
to its long-distance natural conclusion: that nothing short of a total
overthrow of the Empire will prevent these atrocities whose mechanisms
are embedded within the system. Others, derive meaning by engaging as
Truthers in humanitarian Peace-oriented efforts aimed at social reforms
and harm-reduction policies. All those efforts are worthy and
honourable.

The only thing not acceptable is to allow ourselves and each other to
remain swimming in paranoia, paralyzed by terror-mongering and
"conspiracy theories". The US ruling class and its Government have
produced the weirdest and most ridiculous Official Conspiracy Theory in
human history, and yet those who spin and/or believe those lies keep
functioning, keep doing things, keep serving their own cause toward
maximized Profits and Power. Why then should we and our own people
within the Truth movement who have better insights into Truth, better
insights into conspiracy, better insights into motives and into "how
the world really is", be witnessing so much paralysis among us?

9/11 Truth activists - within the US in particular - need to be
out there, visible among all the other individuals, organizations and
entire communities who are engaged in the Peace and Justice movement.
Not just to promote "9/11 Truth" but to engage in unity with others in
the struggle to end the war, and to engage in confronting, mobilizing
against and replacing those in power. Truthers understand better than
most other social activists that we need to confront and replace those
who now occupy both the hidden and the visible positions of power.

Without the meaning of 9/11 Truth, the Peace and Justice movement will
continue without fangs, dominated by innefectual policies of fluff.
Without a committment to participate within the Peace and Justice
movement, Truthers will remain a mostly paranoid and paralyzed network
of people without essential allies and without an understanding of the
realities of social struggle.

We all need each other. And to experience being with each other in unity.
