SUBJECT: Help Stop War With Iran: Contact Former President Carter
Dear Concerned Citizens of All Nations:
Here is a very important message from Mr. Harold Burbank regarding a proposal to prevent a tragic war with Iran. Please take the actions requested to support the proposal, forward it to others and ask them to do the same. Please forward this message to people in other countries.
Thank you,
David Mortensen
From Harold Burbank:
FYI, Dan Ellsberg and Francis Boyle have agreed to a proposal I made to President Carter's office on November 14 to convene an emergency distinguished persons civilian conference on Iran.  I also asked Dr. Bob Bowman, Ralph Nader, and former Iran UN Mission chief Dr. Javad Zarif to consider attending. The proposal outlined an event to be called by President Carter to address increasing statements from congress, human rights lawyers and others that there is in fact a US led attack planned on Iran for late January, 2008 unless the UK government wins concessions by late December, 2007 re Iran's nuclear fuel enrichment program. Iran has rejected the UK posture on legal grounds (correctly) and war therefore seems certain unless the people stop it.  The conference is intended to draw sufficient US and other civilian attention worldwide to compel the US not to attack Iran else face unprecedented US civilian and world condemnation.
Please take the following actions: Call/email the Carter Center at (404) 420-5100, (800) 550-3560 or carterweb@emory.edu to express support for this proposal. If you call, ask to be transferred to the comments line to leave a recorded message. Please leave your name and phone number. If you send an e-mail, be sure to put "Attention President Carter" in the SUBJECT line.
Thanks,
Harold Burbank
