A little antiwar/911truth activism story from the campus of UR

Hey, Gretavo! i thought of you at Harvard!

this past weekend, my husband and i attended the Meliora parents' weekend at University of Rochester. our daughter is a freshman.

Colin Powell was the keynote speaker at 11 a.m. Needless to say we were not planning to attend.

while waiting for young spud  to "rise and shine", and meet us at the campus center commons  for coffee saturday morning, i happened to hear chanting coming from across the way in front of where CP was about to speak.  About 20 folks with signs. As I excitedly ran over to check it out, i could hear "Let him speak, but no degree!!!" "No more war!!!" "No more Lies!!"  I jumped right in (holding my UR blue-and-yellow striped umbrella, parent's ID tag around my neck), thinking, well if daughter happens to walk by she won't be surprised! her mom does this kind of thing all the time.

there was also a small group who arrived later with a large black-and-white "911 WAS AN INSIDE JOB" banner. WOW!!So I joined that group and had some rousing discussion. It was soo good to see and be part of, abeit briefly, campus activism.  I only wish there could have been more participants!!!

btw, they gave him the Honorary. how ignorant. what a sad message to these young UR students.
