63rd anniversary of Nagasaki peace conference/Imam Qatanani

very fortunate to have attended yesterday. speeches by interfaith delegates, breakout sessions, musical/theatrical performances. the performance by "Theater in the Flesh" out of NYC incorporating movement, body, hand and face language with actual testimonial transcripts from 4 survivors/perspectives ...wow, so moving.

The presence of Imam Mohammed Qatanani, who is in limbo awaiting decision from HLS about his deportation or permanent residence, was a highlight.

(i find it interesting to see emblazened across the top of the page - homeland security training in israel!, but of course!)

he spoke about  brotherly love and nonviolence of islam.

at the end of the night, i had a confirming conversation wtih an American-Egyptian Muslim fellow regarding 9/11.

"you know it was not  arab muslims hijacking planes, etc....it was not arabs."  "i know this. i knew this from the very first moment they posted the supposed hijackers!! it is very difficult. most muslims know this, but the information is controlled."

we need more muslim-americans in congress. I hope Kevin Barrett goes all the way, man.
