I don't know for sure that there is a connection, but he hasn't been around.

Edit: Yikes, I just read over at blogger that Carol has pancreatic cancer. That sucks.

From the very beginning the truth movement has had a very loud faction of fakers whose job it has been to keep the movement from growing. They have done this in various ways...

1. focus on red herrings and angrily accuse anyone pointing out the redness of the herring as being divisive and hurting the movement.

2. ignore or downplay evidence of American Zionist or Israeli complicity in 9/11, and accuse anyone who points out this strange omission as being anti-semitic.

3. only promote/link to, etc. members of the fake truth clique. when certain people lose all their credibility and so become unpromotable (like Mike Ruppert) find new bullshit to promote, like Steve Alten and his Shill Game book.

That's just a brief summary--it used to include denouncing physical evidence like demolition and missing pentagon planes as "bad evidence" but they can't really get away with that anymore. It also used to include claiming that there was no reason to presume Larry Silverstein was a suspect. That is also not flying anymore. The fake truth movement works, unsurprisingly, just like the mainstream mythmakers, just on a smaller scale. It's all about cliques, in groups, popularity contests, ostensible diversity masking actual uniformity, and lies both overt and of omission.

You can learn a whole lot about what the REAL whole truth is by keeping an eye on the fake truth movement to see what kinds of things it promotes (LIHOP theories and anything else that preserves the Islamofascist myth) and what kinds of things it either ignores (evidence of Zionist culpability/complicity) or drags its feet on (explosives in the towers, no plane at pentagon, likelihood of numerous fake victims.)

For all the prothinkers out there, keep up the good work, but also don't forget just how brainwashed people are. That makes them easy prey for those like the people on 911Blogger who will accuse you all of fixating on Zionism for "the wrong reasons". I would also recommend very strongly that anyone interested in learning about the history of political zionism read broadly on the subject, not just what is readily available. I am currently reading the books of Douglas Reed, a name I don't ever remember coming across until a chance encounter with someone in the street. Insanity Fair covers his experiences in WW1 and later as a British journalist in Germany through the fall of the republlic and rise of the Nazis, whom he did not like at all, up to 1938.

Far and Wide is a postwar account of his tour of the United States and marks the beginning of his understanding of the important role played by Zionism in the world wars.

Controversy of Zion, which if I recall was published posthumously but finished around 1956, is the fruit of his life's research into the whole Zionist/Communist/NWO racket. Alex Jones is basically a watered down rehash of Reed's and others' work that in the post WW2 years were the intellectual (as opposed to red scare mccarthyist) basis of conservatism that over time was usurped by the modern fake right wing.

When the masses become aware of the truth about 9/11, they are going to recognize Alex Jones not as a hero but as the type of clown who was one of the reasons that they never wanted to take the issue seriously. The fake truth movement is on its last legs and knows it, which is why it has become such a fascist little collection of frauds.

There's only one real truth movement, and they sure as hell are not in it!
