Recently I've been finding some of Antonio Negri's work
that seems to point in the same direction - glad to see it, and also
glad to see that his perceptions are guiding some of his perceptions on
new forms (collective entities) that he sees rising organically from
within the global liberation movement as part of the "natural"
development of Capitalism and Empire (his concept of "the Multitude").

The Chomsky stuff came only in passing, but it's also really
relevant to the materials exchanged recently between him and Kevin
Barrett.
