Kevin Barrett
The great enigma. Has a doctoral degree in something like religion/folk tales/anthropology and studied in Morocco with a Fulbright scholarship. Fulbright scholarships are, one the one hand, VERY prestigious and on the other, underwritten by the US State Department. Converted to Islam.
The enigmatic part is why he is so "careless" about distinguishing between Zionism, Jewish identity as a transnational tribal identity (and thus the political power of groups like AIPAC outside of Israel) and judeophobia, which, while undoubtedly often fake, has infected the brains of some hateful people, who are allowed to post comments on his blog.
Ran for office as a Libertarian and 9/11 Truther in Wisconsin and was arrested (although not convicted) for domestic violence at roughly the same time.
fluent in French
just did an interview with an Algerian radio station...
yeah, enigma. his carelessness may come from his repressed anger, and yet he is fairly courteous to those of the Jewish faith or identity in interviews.
i know someone very much like Kevin.. maybe either hypomanic or manic-depressive, yet who embraces his down times, ... brilliant mind, captivating persona, good-hearted, but beware to those who cross his moral standing-on-higher groundedness, paranoia strikes deep... some believe he is tipping at windmills....able to inspire and inflame followers who get swept up in his cause. has had a hard time holding a steady job, marriage troubles, etc. even so, i have held him in high regard, as a mentor (the battle for free-form radio and against media consolidation) for many years, i guess i still do but with a better sense of balance. just sayin...
